I installed it this weekend thinking it would be an improvement on the stock shifter. (wow I was wrong)
The 1st 2nd shift is so hard to hit fast and smooth and it just doesn’t shift into any gear smooth. Very notchy
I like the stick, ball, and height but I think I will have to switch back to stock.
Anyone else have this problem? I could not have installed it wrong…
Thanks Guys rant over…

I installed it just for the notchiness...very positive shifter feeling and increased effort. Sometimes I miss 3rd but its just me pushing the shift and not finding the center between 3rd and 4th

The shiter IS the stock shifter. No difference - you paid a lot of money for a stick, ball, and shorter throw.

Since you like the look/feel of the stick and ball, buy a good shifter and use the hurst stick and ball on it...

I like my hurst. It did have some rattling issues that a little loctite took care of. It is noticher than the the stock shifter, but it does have a shorter throw than the stock shifter.

I had the Hurst Comp Billet shifter when I had the 3650 in it. It is definitely notchy. Before the Hurst I had the MGW for about 2 months and didn't like it either. I never missed a shift with the stock shifter, the only bad thing about it is the longer throw. I should have left well enough alone and stayed with the stock.

It took me 3 nights at the track to get use to the Hurst shifter. I had the same problem (kept missing the 1 to 2 shift)..........you will get use to it. I can shift the hurst very well now.

Thanks for the ideas
I think I may pick up a different one and reuse the stick and ball.

Sucks to hear you are having trouble with it. I absolutely LOVE mine. I've missed 3rd a few times when I was fucking around too much and wasn't paying attention, but otherwise, I couldn't be happier. Good luck with the fix!

+1 on the MGW

You shoudn't have a problem selling your Hurst on ebay, people love them. I sold the one that came with my car for $250!!!
