Not the 1/4 window either.

I don't want to mess up the adhesive for the mounting brackets, so this question is for someone who has installed this item or similar, how did you go about measuring and marking the stud locations?

I used the provided template that came with mine. I purchased the MRT louver and it came with one. Measured to the center then used painters tape to hold in place. Better with 2 people as well.

It's been forever since did mine. I believe I mounted the top brackets first and then set the side brackets on the window. Then I took the louvers and set them in place, placing the brackets where they belonged. Then I marked the window using the bracket as an outline. It will be helpful if you have a second person to help hold the louvers in place. I may have mounted the top ones completely before I started on the bottom ones, but like I said, it's been forever. Said fuck it... Took the plastic off of the tape and lined up one side at a time. Set it down and took the louver off, leaving the brackets down. Pressed them down good and then reset the louver on the brackets to make sure figment was still good (I thought after pressing the brackets it would change.) then took it back off after I checked. Applied the silicon and here is the results.

I installed the top brackets to the glass, loosely installed the side brackets on the louvers and set them on the glass. Used masking tape to line where the brackets went, took em back off and attached them to the glass.

Make sure you clean the glass where the brackets go with alcohol really well. Attach the brackets to the window, run a bead of silicone around them and let dry at least 24 hours before installing louvers. The silicone keeps water from degrading the 3M tape over time.

Last thing you want is your high dollar louvres taking flight on the highway during rush hour! Mine have been on my car 5 years. Took them off a couple of months ago to be powder coated and expect them to last many more years.
