I have gone through the old forums but still can’t figure it out. My rods and pistons don’t line up with the ford manual. Also shouldn’t 4 pistons be one way and 4 another since there are 2 banks and each rod interacts with the crank differently. I might be over thinking it. Dot is on the right side but the tang on the rod doesn’t line up. Here is where I’m at. Thanks for the help.

Pistons usually have a notch or arrow on the top. This points towards the front of the motor.

I also, dimpled/stamped my rods before I removed them. These look like aftermarket rods... what does the manufacture say?

The rods are “aftermarket” but have ford markings. If you zoom into the pic you can see the FoMoCo part number. I’ll try contacting Modmax where I got them from Monday.
