Why are my rpms dropping almost to the point of shutting off when I come to a full stop?

I'd suggest cleaning your MAF sensor as well as your TB. Just make sure you use the proper cleaner on it.

when you say clean the tb you mean just pulling aside the intake and cleaning the area before the blades or do i need to take the tb off and clean further than the blades...sorry for the rookie ass questions but i just never actually done it.

I'd start with the MAF sensor. Unclip and pop it out. See if it looks dusty/dirty, give it a cleaning, pop it back in and see if that fixes the problem. That's a lot less work than getting all up in the TB.(Not that it's overly hard).

Also consider changing the fuel filter. It's like $10 and ford recommends you change it every 15k miles. I had a similar problem with my car and I cleaned the TB and replaced the fuel filter at the same time. Can't tell you which did the trick, but both are considered standard maintenance.

Fuel filter change is every 30k miles, but good point since he's over that anyway.

Pretty sure it's every 15k. I don't have my owners manual in front of me but it's really sticking out in my head that it's 15k. Whatever the case, that thing gets stopped up quick and it could benefit from replacement.

Make sure you get both MAF Cleaner and TB cleaner.

The Filter is located Under the driver's seat, effectively, on the bottom of the car. It's hiding under a plastic cover.

Exactly! And from what I've been hearing, plus my own experience, I'd change it at 10k They do seem to clog up real quick.

it's not like the thing is expensive or hard to change either. it takes all of like 10 min. if you include the time you spend either jacking it up or pulling out a ramp for the front drivers wheel
