I have had this thing for less than a year and this car has been garaged before the snow and ice came...yet it has started to rust. This was an issue that was known in the first batches; but Steve from BBR told me the new batches took so long because RTR took time to revise the painting process to prevent this issue.

Yet, here I am. I had to put the stock panel back on and had to peel (tweeked) the metal from the deck lid to remove. It slightly warped from pulling from one edge but I'm able to press and hold it to the decklid.

Question is, is it worth repainting or powder coating this panel and reinstalling? I liked the look when I had it installed.

What blows most is the 2 months of waiting after BBR took my money for ordering this piece.

If they are using CRS, I would have suggested a Zinc Phosphate coat or a Zinc Coat with no chromate, to give the paint a good foothold.

That is totally unacceptable! I would Contact RTR directly. If they are worth a shit they would replace it. If not every forum would know about it if I were you.

Considering how long it took for me to get and the boxing issues (lame delay excuses); getting in contact will be near impossible. I wish raxiom or someone would make a plastic one like the stocker minus the bump and faux cap.

I had a shop estimate to strip and repaint and they guarantee their work for life minus damages.

Your first problem is you listened to Steve from bbr. Secondly, to get it stripped and powder coated, it shouldn't cost more than $50. And I would definitely contact rtr and put them on blast if they don't do something about it
