So I have the stage 2 kit from Brenspeed. Now do others with a Saleen SC have a bad lag/lug feeling when you are taking off and give it like 25% throttle? It's at that point where you give it enough gas to take off a bit faster but not quite enough to kick it down (Auto). It's really bad when cold, but gets better when up to temp, but always there.

I have the Saleen Stage 3 + Supershaker and in my case there is "Instant" response.

Call Chandler/Brent and see what they say.

Starfire, I have the same set-up as you do and similiar problem where the car bogs toward 1800-2000 rpm or around 40 miles per hour - its great up to that point, bogs, then O.K. Now if I get on it, no problem?

Keep in touch and let me know if you are able to figure this thing out - I was thinking about taking the car to a local tuner (Houston area) but have not been able to find one on the level of a shop like JDM.

take it to dyno joe

Now I am by no means knocking Brenspeed, there service was excellent and still is, we are trying to work this out but there maybe other issues involved that are out of their control. It maybe due more to the extreme intake which is a Saleen product, we'll see where it goes.

Running the stage 3 kit on my car with a 3.0 pulley and the only time my cars has any hesitation is when it is cold. I let it warm up and no problem. BTW I have both JDM and Brenspeed tunes and it does it with both.

i say get a better tune. i had the tune from brenspeed and a dyno tune and both had a little hesitation before 3k, and after that it ran good. I know have it tuned by Jon Lund @ lundracing.com and its runs like stock from 0rpms-6500rmps!!!! awesome power and driving!

I also have the Saleen Extreme CAI (see sig for full set up)

got everything from brenspeed... they hooked me up with a mail order tune for my setup. i'm all the way on the other side of the world with no dyno tuners over here!

Brenspeed's mail order custom tunes are awesome, and they're customer service is even better.

I've never had any issues with their tunes. One thing i always hear is.. with FI, always let the car warm up. I always start mine, go away for a few minutes then head out.
I believe you would have the same problem with any tune if you're pushing on the car when it's not at proper operating temps.

That would be counter productive. He is wanting it fixed.

I don't know, I hear he is a wiz with JB-weild. For mail order tunes I would have to day JDM (Jim Sr) makes outstanding tunes, the down side is that he gets lots of requests and the turn around time from order to getting your tune is long.

I didnt read the whole thread, but did they or you change the plugs? The tune and plugs can usually be related and both play a part. But every car is different

Not for nothing but i spent ALOT of time with you and SALEEN on the phone and email. Just becuase we couldn't figure out why the shaker with your SC hood wouldnt fit properly doesnt mean the customer service sucks! I said several times to bring the car down because your only in CT within a couple hours and we'd take a look at it. We are good, thats why we are busy and sometime things take a little longer than planned.

Anyways....

It sounds like a tuning issue here, if you want to try an email tune from us we have had alot of success around the WORLD sending out email tunes.

JimIII I agree, you or a rep always answer the phone and try to find the answers to my questions. I think JDM customer service is great. The reality is that you Father produces outstanding tunes, but he is only one guy and can only work so fast, that means a longer turn around time from when you order the tune to when you get it. That doesn't mean poor coustomer service at all. In fact, I would have to say that JDM has some of the better customer service out there.

That doesn't mean poor coustomer service at all. In fact, I would have to say that JDM has some of the better customer service out there.

According to Jamier L. Scott, “Customer service is a series of activities designed to enhance the level of customer satisfaction – that is, the feeling that a product or service has met the customers’ expectation."

Furthermore, customer service will build or take away customer trust in a provider. “Customer trust can be destroyed at once by a major service problem, or it can be undermined one day at a time, with a thousand small demonstrations of incompetence,” Don Peppers.

If you are waiting days into more than a week for a return telephone call(s). If you are waiting for weeks for a canned tune. If you are waiting weeks for a revised tune. That’s piss poor customer service.

My post to this thread was specific to the JDM tune and the process thereof.

If you would like to discuss my experience as a JDM customer, may I suggest you either start a new thread or PM me for I will not hijack this thread further with continued responses to the issue.

Hi all saw this hes. problem and thought I would pass this on. Mike Troyer (Troyer Performance) tunes S 331 and Harley Davidson with Saleen blower on them and was having a hesitation around the same rpms you all are plus after dynoing a few hundred miles after leaving the shop the Trucks were loosing 30 to 40 rwhp. I sent him one of my mosaleen S/C idler systems and with weeks of testing he found out the belt slip was the problem. He put the mosaleen S/C idler, 5 1/2 inch. water pump pulley, 111.5 inch belt and gained the 40 + hp back and he said the tuning was much easyer and the hesitation was gone. Call him and ask him if you want. Im calling Brenspeed and JDM about this also....

2 posts and your advertising already. I have the GIjoe 8 rib setup and the Thrump_rrr tensioner and that has pretty much eliminated all belt slip and both of them are SV's here.

I just wanted to follow up on this... The problem was indeed the MAF in the extreme intake, after a hand full of tunes from Brenspeed they tuned a MAF on their car and then sent me the new MAF with a updated tune for my car and I can say it's much better now!

Lag is pretty much gone, and giving the car throttle is pretty much instant, even this shifting is better (and I'm pretty sure MAF readings do effect shifting)

Brenspeed kept working on the problem, putting there own car on the rollers with my tune, took a little while of back and forth but we seem pretty good now.
