my sense of accoplishment comes from the "000s" on my income.
Got a bit more done today.
Flexplate is bolted to converter
A/C compressor is bolted to block
Starter is bolted to block
Oil Pickup, Windage tray and oil pan all bolted up
Rack is bolted to the kmember
Kmember Brace bolted to Kmember
Crane completely disconnected and lifting plates removed
Water Crossover installed and heater hoses hooked up
Front Wheels temporarily put on and car is lowered to reattach all the other engine bay crap
Friendly note: BMR Kmember with lowered motor mounts, moroso oil pan, aftermarket windage tray
there are 2 ways to attach the windage tray to the car if using an aftermarket one. One is to use RTV silicone and create a gasket. The other is to use a second ford oil pan gasket, cut off the tabs on the sides, and sandwich it together. the RTV sealant was the method i used in the past so i tried a second oil pan gasket this time and ran into a small problem. Inconjunction with a lowered motor mount, the moroso deep sump oil pan, and the extra thickness of the second oil pan gasket, the rack would not fit back onto the kmember with the oil pan. The small bit of clearance i lost by using the second oil pan gasket instead of RTV silicone caused the rack to hit the oil pan before fully seating itself on the kmember. i had to "massage" the front of the oil pan with my "special tool" (read: Hammer) to get it to slide in. just an fyi for others.
