no idea, I think it might have been a wrist pin or piston slap. it wasn't always there but when it was i could hear it in the car over the exhaust. I jsut figured better to change now then to have it let go and destroy the top half

It is a stroker, car is already in the process of being retuned. a few extra cid wont throw off the current tune much same compression same heads same cams

finished putting together the car tonight. Ran her for about 5 minutes, oil pressure is good, no leaks as far as i can see, she moves under her own power, i had to straighten her out in the garage so she wasn't taking up 3 spots anymore lol. best of all, the mystery noise is gone. I think its safe to say this saga is coming to a close! only thing left to do is test drives and an oil change

motor runs phenominal, popped the trans though. 3rd gear is gone which subsequentally takes out OD. still runs around in 1st and second and reverse though.

was on the highway doing some breakin on the motor, get to the WOT part and does 3 of em great, decide to go one more and i hear a loud POP and the engine jsut revs and revs

If it's any consolation my engine seems to be using a serious amount of oil. It's got about 6.6k miles on it and since my last oil change about 700 miles ago it's about 1/2 quart low. I really hope Tillman will make good on this. It's been using oil for a while and I was attributing it to having the breather set-up on it but I took them off after the last oil change and it's still using it.

We'll see.

WTF? That is a brand new trans. How the hell could that of happen? Dude that sucks. At least you can pull it out yourself and bring it to get fixed. They better not try to charge you anything. Sorry to hear that.

trans only has about 500 miles or so on it. I called FB but Fred left for the day Already. Will talk to him Tomorrow. Mike said it sounded liek the band let go. all i know was it was a loud pop/bang noise when it happened
