As much as I want to crank this Mammoth up when I'm done with the build, I think I better keep the boost down until I"m able to upgrade to the T56 Magnum this fall. I really can't afford to destroy my 3650 right now.

Brian, which gear ratio option did you choose?

I don't recall the numbers but it's the lower geared ratio (bigger numbers). Even so I've never used 6th gear because it is too tall and will make you use more fuel than 5th gear at highway speeds. If I had 4.56 gears I could use 6th gear.

Yup, sure is. I'd like 4.10 gears for the 60' but then I'd need a taller tire for the finish line, which would put me right back where I am at now with the 3.73 gears and 26" tire.

Wouldn't a 3.90 be a good compromise?
That's the gear I'm loading in my car.

You'll have to figure out what works with your gearing and speed. All I know is that the 'common' setup put me shifting into 4th about 100-200' from the finish line which simply won't work.

Today I took my new exhaust over to my welder's to get the reducers welded on. I was going to clamp them but the H is too close and doesn't give me enough room for the clamps. I also coated the header pipes inside and out with Eastwood heat resistant coating. I had a half can left so I hit the H pipe as well to make it look nice.

We made a plug for the rear O2 sensor hole by cutting off an old O2 sensor and then welding up the hole in the middle. I'll use the other hole for my wideband. The thread is metric 18-1.50 for future reference because I went several places and couldn't find a plug to fit.

I'll take my 2.5" resonators I bought last month and put them directly on the H pipe, then cut my stock exhaust pipes at the appropriate spot and tie into them with the resonators. This will minimize connection points and put the resonators where they have plenty of clearance.

What exhaust is that? Why didn't you install it when the motor was out???

It will be a PITA to install it with the motor in.

It's a JBA and I just bought it a week ago on sale. Only $300 for the headers plus $150 for the mid pipe. I bought the headers from Stage 3 and the mid pipe from Auto Anything. Production date on the headers is 05-10.

Good deal on those and they look nice with the coating. When are you going to do the install?

Just saw your car on OSW Facebook page. You got some awesome DA there tonight too, should be around -500!

I hope it's close to that tomorrow night...

Cool! I don't do facebook but I saw the lady walk up and take the picture. The air was awesome tonight and I pulled some really good times. Still not launching as hard as I'd like but Jake LaMotta stopped by and offered some advice that might help. First time trying his advice I ran my best pass of the night.

I'm finally getting fast enough that I'm running out of rpm just as I cross the finish line. Looks like I may need to step up to some new tires shortly.

Tim and Ray-
Yes, I have the BMR K member and I'd like to do the install this week. I need to schedule with Justin first because I'll need the tune adjusted and don't want to be stuck waiting without being able to drive the car.

Yesterday I drove my car down to Sunoco to get some more race gas after switching wheels. My Hoosiers are spooky as hell at speed and not very stable at all. Also, a friend with a fox body Mustang just bought the MT ET Street Radial Pro tires and knocked 3/10 off his best time the first night out. I'm running out of rpm at the top end and due to step up to a bigger diameter tire anyway. This is a list of excuses why I just bought 2 new tires from AM. Hopefully I'll get them and have them on the car by next weekend.
