I just returned from the Wednesday night Test and Tune session @ the Muncie Dragway in Muncie Indiana. For some reason every trip that I make to the track my best time is always the first pass of the night, with minimal cool down before the run. First pass tonight netted me a 13.179 @ 106.87 mph, ( DA Corrected @ 12.787 @ 110.218 mph )1.921 60" time, 5.519 330', 8.476 1/8 @ 81.75 mph and 11.019 1000'. I had a good pass going in the 1st round of the trophy race, but, hit the brakes at the end, because I had a huge lead. That pass netted me a 13.28 @ 104.52, 1.939 60', 5.572 330', 8.549 @ 82.61 mph and 11.109 1000'. Reaction times are starting to show improvements, all being less than .2 (don't laugh I have cut several .3 and .4 light's lately) with the best being a .090 light. I think that I may need to upgrade from my C&L Street intake, not sure how much I could gain with a different one, any thought's on this would be appreciated. The Street version doesn't require a tune, Correct ??? Do you guy's think this could be an area that would provide noticeable gains ???

Doug the "street" intake does not require a tune if the calibration insert is installed. In your case your not running the insert now. I dont think you would see a huge gain but if you want to try a Steeda CAI just let me know.. I'm glad things are starting to come around, let me know if I can help.

OK here is a more detailed question on the CAI systems. What is the most important factor in a well performing CAI ? Is it the mass air flow housing, the elbow/tube or the filter ? I like to shop for bargains, and bought my CAI used (C&L Street). Does the Street version use a different mass air flow housing than the Racer version ? Dave, send me a price on the Steeda 555-3120

GrnBullit, to be real honest I did not see a great improvement going from 20" street tires to 18" street tires ultimately to the 15" MT Drag radials. I do wish I had went withe the shorter 26" MT's instead of the 295/55-15". I was running 13.5xx on the 20" and 13.35 on stock 18" bothe seeing about 2.0 60' times. I changed to the drag radial and alum.DS at the same time and in the heat and humidity weve seen lately, stayed in the 13.3xx and 13.2xx range. I am running a new tune by my freind Dave @ DavaDmotorsports.com that has made improvements for me.

TNT @ ORP

Just went to TNT @ ORP last night myself, best I could muster was a 12.76 @ 116mph. Driver mod needed.
I just put racestars and MT's on my car and went with the 295/55 (28") tire.....I like the 28" because I think it fills in the fenderwell better.

Mike, on my last run, before they closed the lanes down, I opened up the bottle and ran a 12.66 @ 108.95 on a 100 shot.
Where in Indiana are you located ? I'm in Marion.

I am just NE of Martinsville, about 30 minutes south of Indy of SR 37. That is a nice time on the bottle.
I just need more seat time at the track.
