Wow man, that sucks... hope all turns out well for you. I second the vote that in the event that they total the car, buy it back and turn it into a racecar

I had that happen after eating some Mexican food! Those jalapeno's can be tough on the interior!!!!!:lol2:

Lol

So does this mean you are willing to deal on that 4R?

Seriously though, suck factor with that is through the roof. Sorry to see it man. Hopefully the insurance company won't play the aftermarket seat cover something got fucked up swapping them out took this long to short out thanks for your money now we're gonna fuck ya game.

if someone offered me a decent deal I would take it. I hope they don't try that either.

If they total it, buy it back and turn it into street legal race car.

I would buy it back just to take all my parts off. Im pretty sure if they total it though I may be having one big part out. I don't want a salvaged car, then it would be too much of a pain to clean out, race car would be cool except I need to use the money the insurance company gives me to buy a different one. I dunno its all up in the air. I guess ill see what they say first

Lol I may take you up on that if they decide to repair vice total. So im guessing if they total it, you don't want the chassis?

Well initial estimate from the adjuster is $7800. He also stated that its not even going to be that low since he's is suggesting to the company to tow the car in to a place to figure out what all needs to be replace. He only put the things that he could see were physically damaged ie the drive seat wiring and the headliner. Reading what some of you had wrote, all the interior should be replaced because of the smoke correct? If that's the case, im pretty sure its totaled.

Hmm..I remember reading on a similar thread about what % the damage was vs what it's worth but it may vary insurance company to company...who are you with?

At this point what do you want to do with it?

All the items on the initial estimate they wrote down to replace is:
Both Visors
The headliner and insulation
Both door trims
The passenger seat pads
The Driver seat pads (Doesnt even have and thing on the power seat motor or seat frame and trim)
And the center console

State Farm.

Honestly I wish this never happened lol. I dont mind them repairing it but I want all the cushions and such replaced vice just cleaning. Im afraid of the smell coming back with them replacing everything still and even worse if they just try to clean it. And if that was the case, it seems like it would be too much and them total it out

So the cost of new seats and a headliner is enough to total the car? Amazing.

There's nothing solid yet man. I don't know if they will or not. But like I said its at 7800 right now and they've missed some stuff.

im surprised, for what you have listed 7800 seems kinda high. Working with that, any supplemental will probably get it totaled. There are always supplementals

Whats supplementals? They included a new main wiring harness as well which was like $1200 of the cost since they dont know where the short came from and what other wiring it affected. I forgot to put that in the list up there ^
