So why don't 10in wide square setups work?

Yes, I'm running that same wheel all around with 274/40s. They clear the 07 GT500 Brembos just fine.

Moving up to a 285/40 after these tires wear out.

Sweeeet. Might be getting some new wheels soon so it's good to know what offset I'll need.

RIP - You will be missed
Pretty sure they're the same things you got. Edit - in the silver finish.

I got distracted by some guy driving a brown truck. Sorry.

18 hours from order to delivery . . . not too shabby at all.

So from what I've read, pf01 10.5x18 with 38 offset will fit all around, but does it sit flush to the fender? Does it depend on suspension? Some pics I've seen they stick way out in the back.

The wheel pokes in the back, so it depends on the tire you use. I have 305s and they exaggerate the fact that they stick out of the fender. With a 285, the tires will align better with the fender. IMO they'll fit the wheel better too--305s are a little too wide for the 10.5" wheel. Save the money and get a 285.

Yeah, I'm looking at 285/35's, so would a spacer be needed in the front to get the same "poke" in the front

Depends on how much camber there is. -1º of camber would make the wheel stand fairly upright and mimic the look of the rear. -3º and the top of the wheel will be tucked under the fender

I ran a square setup of 18x9.5" wheels and 275/40/18 tires for awhile. Eventually went back to 255/45/18 up front because of the tramlining with 275 width tires. Also changed the rears to 295/45/18 due to the height of the 255 tires.

Are any of you with wide front tires experiencing tramlining? Our roads are rutted from studded tires and the wide tires wanted to grab the ruts. It was a constant struggle to keep the car between the lines on the interstate.

How's your alignment? Are your tires wearing okay? I had bad (seriously bad) tramlining on 285/35/19 Kumho ecsta XS tires but I could only chalk it up to the tires wearing unevenly. I have newer/different brand 305s up front and can drive with one finger.

What's this tramlining you speak of? Car feels great with the 295's I've had on all 4.

It depends on the type of tire treads. The 285 Goodyears I use for autocross tramline like a fucking streetcar. The 255 Nittos I use for street use are fine.

My 295 Rivals are shockingly good at not following the road. They go pretty straight. That's with 3 degrees of camber too.

Tramlining is when the road pulls the car along existing grooves. It's most noticed in states that allow studded tires. The studs create ruts in the road and wider tires like to follow those ruts. The phenomenon is odd imo. A 255 doesn't do it but 275 up front will suck right in and along the ruts.

I really liked everything else about the square setup but on a road with ruts it sucked because the car gets pulled unexpectedly.
