so for several months now i've had a stalling issue, i thought mybe i had messed up somethign when i did the my headunit install. i have it completely removed and still have the issue. i havent changed anything on the car in a long time.

the car drives fine, afr is fine, no codes, no problems under wot, it only happens after it's warmed up and driven for a while. when it does stall it takes a while for it to start back up it cracks right away but wont fire up.

i just dont know whether its the fuel pump or the fpdm? or if its even any one of those. at this point i have no idea whats going on with it a this point.

Is it still the original fuel pump? The earlier pumps had issues like you describe. A search for TSB fuel pump might turn something up.

yes original fuel pump, see the problem is i'm having a hard time accepting its a fuel issue because it doesnt stumble and then die it literally just dies. like someone flicked a switch.

you have a link to the tsb i'm having a hard time finding it

i know i'm double posting lol,

but so i found the tsb in a thread that you linked to the exact post. after reading it it sounds like this may be the issue, it only happens after driving it for a while although it completely dies with no hesitation and has happened multiple types after highway cruising and comping to a quick stop.

The Fuel Pump overheats and causes it to shut down. Once it cools off, it allows it to start again. What do you have for a tune if anything? D you have the ability to datalog? What you really need to do is check wiring at the pump and the FPDM. When the car stalls and wont start, you need to check the power feed wire to the pump to see if you have voltage. If you do, then most likely the pump. If you don't possibly the FPDM

i have not checked the tb what should i look for?

idle rpms are 750 once warmed up

Take your air intake off the TB and open the butterfly's slowly by hand. Hold them open and clean all the grime from inside of it (with a clean lint free cloth or paper towel), out towards the front of the car, in a pulling-sweeping motion as to not let the grime fall back into the manifold. I've had a very similar idle/stall problem as you are having with my stang and this was my fix. I would try this first before you move on to looking at the fuel pump. btw your rpm's seem fine but I used my tuner to change my idle to 1,000rpm so my car doesn't bog down during/while the AC is on and im in full steering lock. Good luck.

If you clean the TB, remove it and clean both the front and back.

dont yhink its the tb looked pretty damn clean to me.e

The goldish-yellow flaps aka butterflies look a bit dirty around the edges. There should be no build up on them.

Clean that off and clean any build up behind them and inside the TB ports behind them. There is almost always build up behind the butterflies, never really in front of them.

it was a tiny bit of oil i cleaned it off when i opened it up. i might pull it completely off tomorrow and give tje back a good wipe down but i dont expect much build up. the tb had never been very dirty on this car.

If it does it randomly after a cruise couldnt it be air bubbles in the tank forming around the pump? Pretty sure there was a tsb about that at one time.

thats what im banking on, got a pump just have to wait tul tuesday when im off to replace it.

You may already know this but I'll post it up anyways. Lay some old towels around the pump opening and keep some spares handy for taking the pump out of the car and for any unexpected spillage. You might want to depressurize the lines by unhooking one end of the fuel filter prior to unhooking the line on the hat.

You can pull relay #21 under the hood and it will shut off the pump, then turn the car over for a little bit and it will get alot of the fuel out of the lines.
