Street manners with screw blower - input?

I pulled out to pass a truck at about 50 mph in third gear and put the throttle down to about 3/4 throttle. The tires broke loose, I let off shoved it into 4th and kept going. However I was running Perilli P Zero ROSSO summer tires in temps around 0. I'd say 1st and 2nd anything over 1/2 throttle and your doing a smoke show, third is about 3/4 throttle unless the tires are nice and warm.
Car made 497 rwhp with a Saleen S/C 11 psi, with 3.55 gears.

Don't get the blower. You probably can't handle the power and you wouldn't enjoy it anyway. Maybe get a nice, safe Camry instead.

484/444tq with the eforce and 4.10's and my wife doesn't have any issues driving the car (manual trans). i've also driven a buddy's car with an auto and the eforce producing 430ish rwhp and was very easy to drive.

I've had the Whipple FRPP HO with the FRPP tune. It will work fine for what you want. It's a great tune, very driveable, safe, still makes power.

My experience with a twin screw (whipple) was that over 500rwhp driving around town required more concentration than I wanted.

Slightly under 500 WHP on a HO Whipple, I'll agree 1st and 2nd were a wash.. Until I put Drag Radials on for just driving around.. With Drag Radials, this car is a blast

If you don't have bad weather to deal with and this isn't a daily driven car in a place other than Southern California, I would say PD blower hands down.. Just for the factor of torque when you want it, not having to get on the gas to feel the gains..

See my sig pic below. thats what I run on the Street with the Skinny fronts and all and now the addition of th UPR k-member. No its not my DD but if it was "I have NO problems driving around town and the interstate and to work from time to time". I have been on 200 mile cruises and no issues. Its not like your driving around in full boost 24/7. Even when I had the stock Wheels and tires on the car it was timid until you hammered it, then spin city.

Pretty funny, and I do think it's working. Just keep in mind I've got a super comp dragster, so the "powa" doesn't scare me. I'm just looking for input on street manners

I have the Eaton M122 mounted on my 4.6l making 450rwhp and you can drive it as easily on the street as stock or as silly as you want. Doesn't make too much noise when driven calmly but makes a nice howl when pushed. Control your right foot an you'll have no problems.

I have a 500rwhp saleen twin screw pushing 11PSI, brenspeed blower cams, 4.10's, and a spec3+ running 20" nitto 555's.

Other than the clutch grabbing hard from a complete stop, the car is completely streetable. I can pass people up at ANY speed without spinning , you just have to put it at the right gear and appropriate throttle. Trust me, you will get used to driving it correctly quickly. If i floor it in 1st-2nd gear at high rpms, of course you will spin with 20" street tires. Try launching the car from a dig or low roll with MT drag radials and the car HOOKS and flies away. If it wasnt for the twin screw i dont think i would have beat the viper, c6 z06, and ferrari F430 as i did.

KB here too, pushing near 500 to the wheels. Very streetable, but it'll easily break loose in 1st/2nd/3rd on street tires if I stomp it. Just have to be a little careful. Not recommended for a person with road-rage tendencies as you'd loose control at some point, lol. You also need a good tune that takes out any throttle sensitivity as well.

I have a question regarding blowers and other additional mods.

Suppose you had a stock GT and you throw on a whipple/KB/Saleen, what other mods would you say are necessary?

-Tires obviously
-Clutch?
-Relocation brackets?

What mods specifically made it significantly easier to control for you guys?

Also random question but, on a Whipple HO kit, what WHP can you expect out of it? I know its a 550bhp kit but what's that come down to with a otherwise stock 4.6L?

Tires and and a competition clutch are a must. I felt my stock clutch slipping immediately after installing the TVS. You can drive around with the stock clutch and it will still drive and feel great, but know this: you are not getting all the power to the wheels.

I am still using stock exhaust manifolds, cams, intake, and suspension. I did change to a one-piece driveshaft for the fun of it.

As long as you use your head, a blower on a street car isn't an issue.

Although mine is not a DD, but with 455 it is very streetable. But you just have to be smart with your acceleration. As for the comments on clutch... my stocker was fine right up to my first track run with DRs and it slipped/smoked pretty bad. So an Exedy 500 is awaiting install for the spring.

I had the same issue this Oct... Clutch smelled for two days.
