Stroker crank for 5.4? any feedback

Just wondering about using 4.415 crank. I have never read about anyone stroking the 5.4. any reason other than cost?

when I had my motor built I ask Mike @ L&M about stroking or boring the build... he said don't. IIRC the stroke is already very long on the 5.4

I know that the ratio on the 5.4 is .852 , If I bore and stroke it the ratio will be .838. It does not seem like too big of a change.

IIRC Sean Hyland has a stroker crank for the 5.4. I think you are aware of the drawbacks of stoking the already undersquare 5.4 so you must have reasons for thinking this one out, maybe a super spooling turbo setup or something to pull against a JD 630, lol.

How serious is the plan and is it written in stone? I ask because I'm fairly certain that a 2013 GT500 block can be had for about the same as the specialty crank. As you already know it would bring the motor closer to square, unshroud the valves, and produce 5.8 liters.

Piston speed at higher rpm's for the 5.4 is becoming an issue because of the long stroke.

I would prefer the bottom end power of a under sq stroker to the high RPM 7,500 plus of a SQ or over SQ motor.
