Think also about heat soak if you ever intend on doing any kind of road racing. Centri cars do better with this. I have had a Kenne Bell car as well as my Boss, and although I loved the torque in the 07 the Boss is so damn strong it is a bit frightening. If you are looking for more torque down the road you can always look into the torque booster kit as well. The beefcake special will be hard to beat, I am thoroughly satisfied. This kit on the stock pulley and E85 made 760 corrected, probably 630 at my altitude. I will eventually pulley down and am adding more supporting mods for the track. I've seen 130 already at Bandimere.

Either way you can't go wrong, this is an excellent platform. Good luck and have fun! :thumb2:

Thanks. Heat soak is a real issue here in Texas. Drag racing in the summer, it's still 90*+ @9 pm!. One of the reasons I like VMP's with the dual fan intercooler….

any of the kits will make decent power. The Paxton is def the best bang for the buck, and has killer growing potential. As much as 1000rwhp.

we can set you up with a vortech / Paxton / roush / or a custom setup with any of them.

A guy on FFM has this kit and beat on his car for quite a while on a road course, and his temps stayed right where he wanted them. I'll try to add a link in a bit.

Edit: Couldn't find the post yet (I'm traveling and on my phone). I'll look more when I get home this weekend. Hopefully this will suffice until then.

Editing my edit: He posts a couple pages later in that thread about having no heat soak at the course.

One day I like the centri, next the PD!!??
My Son-in-law has a CTS-V with 820 RWHP (PD) and he buys my daughter a GTR (700+) turbo. Both a blast to drive. So I'm not sure what kind of power I want on my Stang? I like the idea of instant torque....

Instant torque IS cool... but in practice, it's mainly good for smoke shows. It's a little easier to get a car like yours down the road (or track) with a centrifugal because you can lay into it at a lower RPM so you're not clobbering it with boost. But there's no wrong answer here. Blondes, brunettes, redheads... they're all capable of meeting and exceeding your requirements. :)

Thanks for input….

My tuner (Shaun/AED) is really partial to the PD's. I really like his work on my car and that also will factor in the equation. Right now is the fun part of doing the research and getting input from those who have the experience of boosted 5.0's, etc..

ps. I really like your Youtube channel. That LX is a beast.

pps. that demo ride in the '10 GT UPR to Dunkin Donuts may have swung me over to the Roush!!

You saw my personal youtube channel? Thanks for the compliment. My LX is a fun toy. Hopefully make some serious passes in 2014.

UPR's 2010 GT is ridiculous. I drove the car for a few hours one afternoon last year... having that much torque available the moment you step on the throttle is a real headtrip. Since you've seen both cars and you know what I'm talking about, here's a dramatic comparison- The 2010 GT with only 700rwhp FEELS faster than my LX because the throttle is like an on/off switch. My LX, even with 428cu in and 28psi will let you sneak up on the throttle and finesse it a little.

To be perfectly honest with you, I'm personally torn between a VMP TVS and a ProCharger D1SC for my 2011 5.0. Each has its own pros and cons. I'll probably choose the ProCharger because it's just as fast, but significantly cheaper. However, the VMP TVS does have a nice OEM appearance. That's worth something.

I know the cost is a factor for sure. However, I'm real happy with my N/A tunes from Shaun @ AED and I really trust his opinions. He's partial to the PD type blowers. I'm really leaning towards the Roush, especially after your comments about your experience of driving UPR's. Looks like I'd better order a couple more sets of MT's....

As far as the OEM appearance; Mystickeith50 pic is exactly what your talking about.

You're exactly right. And there's something to be said about deferring to your tuner's preference. The Roush TVS is a good choice for you.

If I was to build another 5.0 I would do the JPC single turbo kit. With the boss you could run more boost then regular GT. If not that the Paxton. If Lund was to release there TT setup that would be first choice. But it is still few months out.

Lund has a TT kit out.

Owning a TT kit I am going to a Paxton so that should tell you something.

I haven't seen where you can buy the Lund kit yet. Maybe I am wrong.

KenB/Lund have a kit that they installed/tuned for a member on here, Sean, was from MD and moved to Fl, can't remember his screen name but he had it at Mustang Week. He sold the car to KenB IIRC.
