I used a similair kit on 98 saleen, yes I know non S197. It worked fine. Done for looks only to balance out puny little rear rotors. In theory I think an argument can be made for better braking due to moving clampoing force out in a bigger Arc or something but who knows. And if I thought about it too much a corner carver expert will come in and tell me why I am wrong anyways.

LOOKS > all

Would you rather have a SMOKIN hot woman that can only run from the couch to the TV to turn the channel for you or a butt ugly woman that spends all your money on gym memberships but has a butta face?????

I guess I'd consider myself an "ignorant corner carver," because I thought that was pretty funny!

Where are they "clearancing?" I can't tell from the pic. Is it the caliper itself that gets filed??

I run the Baer 14" rear upgrade kit, and it's essentially just a bolt on bracket and rotor upgrade like that eBay kit. No pulling axles or messing with fluid.

I swap on my smaller stock brakes when I run my drag tires, so pulling the axles each time would be a huge pain in the ass.

My opinion is, that eBay kit would be a good, easy upgrade for those looking for larger rear brakes, and a super easy install that could be reversed in minutes to run different sized rear wheels.

this is a worth while mod. this is one of my friends and these are billet & cut on a cnc and a very nice setup. he has many many miles on his car and some spirited driving thru the mountains and has had 0 issues and they fit under stock 18" 07-09 shelby wheels. win win. actually if you want a set I can get just the brackets to you for 175 shipped but that is not including any PP fee and you can source what ever rotors you want

Meh. I installed the '13 Shelby stuff on my '11 GT using the complete kit from 5.0 Resto. I don't think it's a big deal to pop the diff to do a factory-type install. I don't mind using adapters when necessary, but with an OEM option available, I'd always go OEM. An army of engineers put it together and designed it to last a zillion miles. I just prefer that to the extra couple of hours it would take to do the install. I used the opportunity to put a Shelby diff cover on the car, and refilled the diff with Royal Purple. The rotors in that eBay kit are what you can get at Checker/Auto Zone for $60 each. The ones from Ford are OEM Brembo and have the centers painted so they don't rust.

Yea, and NOBODY would know I only have a little over $200 TOTAL and 15 minutes of work into this project to get THIS:

Forget all that draining fluid and tearing into the axles!!!! That's like changing the spark plugs by going through the oil pan!!!!!!:thud::thud::thud:
