The FRPP plug is just a repackaged Autolite HT0.

I figured it was either that or it's a relabeled version of the Motorcraft PZT0F which are now obsolete.

What was wrong with the one plug that was bad?

Nothing, turned out the gaps were too wide for the cylinder pressure with this motor. AKA "blowing out the candles". I always ran them at .031 but it was breaking up above 6000 rpm, I ended up bringing them down to .020 and now it runs great up to 6750, so far. (I thought the issue was resolved when I replaced the plugs before but it wasn't)

Okay after taking a few to get my bearings with this new site software, I have a small update. I can't believe it but my 5 pt harness expired last month! Can't believe I've had it for over 2 years now, in any case I finally have a plan to get my new cage inspected and certified next weekend, so I figured I should go ahead and replace the 5 pt to avoid any potential issues. I moved the expired one to the passenger seat, which only had the oem belt previously.

Good for 2 more years

The thing that drives me crazy is how these high performance racing harnesses must be replaced every two years however oem belts are good forever, i.e. my buddy has a 1965 Mustang and technically his original 50+ year old belts are approved at tech inspection and mine would have failed! LOL

Also tried something different for Christmas pics this year, lined up all the Stangs! Also took some with their driver, from left to right it's my wife's 06, My 05, and my daughter's 06.

I was wondering if that could be done like other stuff i.e. window nets, etc. Now that I have one for each seat maybe I'll rotate them around every other year.

Today was a good day, finally got my new cage certified, good to 8.50 now, next I need to get me certified, my license that is. I'll make a goal to get it done in 2018. (from my other thread 6pt to 8.50)

On another note, I'm still having issues with the lock up on my tranny, spoke with FB and we're at the point now where I just need to pull it and send it back to him sometime to go through. I don't want to deal with that right now though, everything else works fine so I just wont use the lock up for now. I know it will be down for a least a month when I do that, probably more so it'll have to wait. Manuel wants some data logs while doing full runs at the track before giving it any timing, he wants to play it super safe this time, which is fine with me. Hopefully I'll get to the track next month sometime and make a little more progress.

What's involved in getting a driver's cert? Is there a written test? Not that I'm getting one, I'm just curious.

Santa visited a little early this year haha..new steering wheel & quick release hub!

Looks good. 2 years ago NHRA had a requirement that the QD adapter had to be welded to the steering shaft. The car is in SS/A. It was through bolted with a socket head bolt. They let us run that weekend but had to have it welded for the next race. Not sure if it pertains to you.

Interesting, I wouldn't be surprised if that was required. Guess I'll find out eventually! I don't object to welding it on if needed, I prefer not to but I will if necessary no biggie.

Yeah I guess it's hard to argue that now lol It does make it a whole lot easier to get in and out though, the side bars on my new cage are much taller than my old cage.

Now I have a new stupid problem, I went to go for a ride last weekend and it ate the serpentine belt about a mile from home. I found a couple idler pulleys that wiggled a bit so I ordered new ones from Tasca which I received yesterday and installed along with a new belt. Went for a test drive today and it ate the damn belt again about 2 miles from home. I found the brand new pulleys wiggle also, the inner and outer bearing casings have some play in them which is exaggerated at the edges of the pulley. That allows probably about .025 - .030 play on 2 pulleys which I think is causing it to eat the belts. IDK what else it could be, everything has been fine with the belt with this motor until now. This and my tranny has to come out soon and go back to FB to get freshened up and fix the lock up issue. One thing after another anymore!!!

Kyle it has been awhile since I dropped by your thread. Christmas family Mustang pics look great. Congratulations on getting the cage certified. New steering wheel is way cool and good luck resolving the lock up and belt eating.
