This happened to me on the way to work this morning, and I wasn't able to figure it out until I got home tonight. Basically, my phone would connect to SYNC, but it would not stream music, and phone calls had no audio.

The fix is right here. Yes, that's for a Phord Es-cah-pay, but it worked for my '11 Mustang, too.

  1. With the key in ACC position, put it on AM/FM radio
  2. Pull the Number 3 fuse in the passenger kick panel
  3. Turn off the ignition
  4. Go get a beer and drink it
  5. Replace fuse
  6. Turn vehicle back on and stream some more Metal from your phone via SYNC. I recommend DragonForce, Trivium, or maybe some old-school Iron Maiden.

Holy thread necromancy, Batman!

This fix also works for several other weird Bluetooth streaming issues, such as if your phone suddenly stops playing music through the stereo and instead plays it through the phone's internal speakers, even though it's still connected to SYNC via Bluetooth.

I have also found that turning the vehicle off while it is streaming music through SYNC seems to make this problem more likely to occur.
