Well with a big charger you can set it on start for 15-20 seconds and that will clean the plates, then you can do a slow charge on the battery and bring it back to life. The plates get shit built up on them and that's when they start giving you trouble.

It doesn't stop ticking. Not in a reasonable amount of time I've found anyway. I just tried it after leaving it alone for a day, and now when turning the ignition on, the mileage and DTE is replaced with dashes and then I get the error " DTE ODO data err" in addition to a wrench light.

Also says check charging system...

did you get the battery tested yet?????? like i said before i think you battery is bad. a charged battery in the car should read 12.5 to 12.8 volts, you only had 11.5. BTW you can not jump start a car that has a bad battery.

If the battery has gone bad then you need to fix the problem, not just the symptom. Our cars are known for issues with the alternators. If yours shorted out internally then that could explain all of your issues.

I remember seeing an answer for this somewhere. The dashes on the dash mean something. Sorry, I cannot think of it right now. Maybe it will come to me in a few. You might do a search about the dashes on the dash.

Just had my OE battery die today, 6yrs old.
Only read 10v with meter, did same thing,
TB clicking, dash light flicker, jumped it to
get home okay, 20mi no a/c or accessorys on.
Going to get duralast tomorrow, they seem to
have a good rep from what I see on net.

Oh yeah well aware of the alternator issues. I replaced the alternator with a PA performance 130 AMP a month after I got the car...

Yeah a year or so ago I accidentally grounded out the hot wire on the body of the alternator and had to have it repaired after it burnt the connection apart. Its interesting to watch all the electrical systems in the car shut down one by one...

OP - just because you attempted to jump start the car and it didn't work, that does not mean you've ruled out the battery. If a cell in the battery has gone bad, or if there's a dead short inside the battery, jump starting will not work. Go to Wal Mart, put a new battery in there, and see if that fixes things. Good luck.
