how come ford does not offer one for the mustang. (S197)
im wondering how hard it would be to fit one from say a ford
Edge. yes i know about brake shift lock out and the PAS.
but i plan on doing a true push button start. ( ingiton on\acc\push to start)
so i wont have to worry about that.
i mean how many different column's can ford be using on their cars\suv\truck.
do you all think im pipe dreaming.

I would LOVE to have a telescoping column on this car, I greatly miss it from my G37. Perfect spot for my legs is like 1/2" too far away from the wheel, so the compromise begins.

If you can figure out a way to do it, i'm all in!!

I think you'd be better off with a aftermarket racing wheel and a spacer to put it where you want then trying to retrofit a telescoping shaft into these cars.

For my long arms and 6'2" height that works just fine... But the wife 5'1" height and small build makes it impossible for her to get comfortable without looking like the steering wheel is about to swallow her...

I would like a MOD to allow for a telescoping shaft...

There was a thread on this a couple months ago that delved into some of the technical issues with a telescoping steering wheel, and possible solutions. You might see if you can dig it up on a search

Sounds like she needs adjustable pedals more than a telescoping wheel.

i dont think this will happen.
last night through a series of contacts i was able to sit down with a ford tech (18 years ) and he explained to me in detail what would be involved.
logistics of mounting in the correct location.
wiring.
steering shaft sizes.
it was an awesome idea while it lasted.
