Seriously!? :omfg:

Not every time, but yeah. I ordered the car new. Got it home Feb 27, 07. Took it apart in the garage with 135 miles on it starting March 3, 07. Worked on it hand cleaning, waxing, clay barring with the parts off and did that process on the parts that were off WHILE off. Obviously, I had hand washed the car before taking it apart, but once apart, the fun? began. Finally got finished Apr 27, 07.

There was other shit I did that took some time such as masking off the taillights and painting the GT badges.

Seats came out too to vacumm. Spare tire too.

But, the next month, I took it on an 11 day vacation. The plan, goal, intent, was to NEVER have rain fall on the car. Well, 2 hours into said vacation it rained. Ended up having SOME form of precip on the car 8 out of the 11 days.

So on 8 11 07 had to take it all apart again to clean off the rain and road splash as well as the various Monument Valley/Sunset Crater/Wupatki Natl Monument dust.

But, it is likely due for a full tear down and clean again.

During normal washes I ALWAYS take the wheels off after and clean separately from the car. While washing I plastic bag them to keep splash off the rotors. With the wheels off I hand wash the fender wells and the suspension parts with the rotors bagged. Shop Vac on blower to dry after along with hand drying with The Absorber as I go.

I will take out the lower grille trim out each wash and have taken the scoop off two? other times during washing separate from the major teardowns.

Damn, that's a lot dedication right there.

Wow! Kudos to you, that's some serious dedication right there. It clearly pays off though, your car always looks bloody mint mate!

You'd freak at the state mine gets in and how it's 'cleaned'! lmfao

Well, thanks to both, but bear in mind I havent taken the hood off (although I DID clean and wax under after removing the heat barrier) nor the front fenders. BUT, I DID do both of those on my former 02 GT. Havent done it on the GO because I dont want to fuck up the painted bolt heads nor have "misalignment" marks in the paint upon reassembly. However, at some point in the (far?) future, I know Ill end up doing that.

Heres the 02 with the hood and fenders off. At this point everything but the engine was clean:

Ha or maybe I can help you. I think I have a set of oem headlights and I can smoke them for you. If interested, we can work out a deal! :thumb:

What shape are the OEM headlights in? I may want an extra set to put back in if I ever have to drive my car but they need to be mint.

If I remember correctly, they were in great shape - no broken tabs, no cracks, no damage. I'll stop by the garage and snap some pictures if I find the set and send it to you via PM. If I do have a mint set of headlights, do you want me to smoke them or you want to buy them as stock headlights and then do it yourself? Let me know what you want to do. :thumb:

I work too much, I could never have that kind of time to take the car apart to wash it. Would be nice to have it that clean, but damn.

Well, thats why it took me so long the first time, almost two months. Couldnt do it without a daily driver. Doing the white GT took around 4 years. It was in various states of "completion" as I drove it. Granted, a lot of what I was doing had nothing to do with cleaning. Right before I sold it, I took it all apart again to get it clean, again, as I never did get it all clean all at the same time prior to that. That last time is where those pics come from. Never really got to drive it or enjoy it in its completed state after that, however.

Heres how it looked once I was done:

Ultra, I just looked at my garage and realized that headlight set was sold long ago. Hope you find an extra set because the set you smoked is pretty darn dark!

for now....LOL:onfire::evil:

Honestly? Smoking the headlights was THE WORST project I've done as far as "the fun factor". They came out super shiney but it took 2 freaking days and I'm beat!!! Notice the horns are relocated too!!!

Ok i have one small complaint about what you didnt do, whether you forgot or it slipped your mind. You relocated the horns, ok good get them out of sight. You didnt paint behind the grille or anything behind the bumper, shakes head.

Can't see JACK!!!!! LOL!!!!!!

It's all good, I don't drive the car at night.:thumb:

Haha, wow that's real dark. As long as you don't drive at night, you're good to go.

Little combo of chrome, clear, and smoke!!!!!!

Looks like I'll be smoking the fogs soon.

+1 for the fogs to be smoked! Will most likely have a fog lights in stock soon, hopefully.

You can paint the A/C condensor? I thought that was a no-no? That's all that's showing.

I didn't paint mine because I don't think that's a good idea. I rather get one that's in black already and replace it instead of painting it.
