It's a notice I have to display since I do not have permanent tags on this vehicle. Since I drive it to work/dealership and I do not have what is called a buyers guide signifying it is for sale, I need this sticker. It's a federal mandate and if I forget to do this it's a $10,000 fine.

People think it's a joke, and that I'm full of myself for thinking others want to buy my shit, but it's really no laughing matter if you don't put this sticker on.

TN has something similar, but they only ask for the Warranty sheet to be tagged on the vehicle whether it is ready for sale or not. Each sell-able vehicle without the Warranty sheet is $10,000 each if caught.

I don't understand. The car isn't for sale, so you need the sticker, but if you had a "buyers guide", everything would be ok? What's the difference between the buyers guide and the sticker? And wouldn't they just have employees park their personal vehicles away from the ones on the lot?

Doesn't matter if the car is actually for sale or not. If it does not have permanent license plates it needs either one of these stickers or a buyer's guide. Remember, I do not have permanent plates on this vehicle... I can simply take this plate and put it on another vehicle when I operate it on the street. The buyers guide means that the car is for sale and shows if it is sold "AS-IS" with no warranty or has a warranty/limited warranty. It is a contractual agreement you understand and accept the vehicle being sold to you. It is hung inside against a window.

If it is on the lot then it needs to abide by these terms. Obviously new cars have the window sticker/MSRP and that needs to be present too or one of those stickers need to be stuck on a car. When I trade in a vehicle, and plates are removed, I immediately put a buyers guide on it, or a sticker if it will not be sold. Same thing with a customer taking delivery of a vehicle, you do not remove the window sticker until temp tags are installed or plates are transferred.
