well following the instruction for the electrical diag. i was checking resistance to the tps. the minimum on a couple of them was 700 and i was only getting 280 +/-. if i did it correctly i need a new tps.

Sounds like your tps. Even after I swaped those connectors around to where they was suppost to be, I had those codes you have now and the car wasn't running right at all. Put on a new TPS, cleared codes, and hasn't been an issue since.

DUDE you have the throttle position sensor plug, gray with red tab, and the fuel pressure sensor plug, solid gray backwards. .CHeck and see bet you money. don't be surpised if your sensors aint screwed up now cause I did this when i first put my motor in and had to buy a new tps. Mine wouldn't idle, and it throwed the same exact codes you have now.

checked those plugs and they were in the correct place.

Shoot I wasn't hoping it would be as simple as a connection swap. I would still replace your TPS and go from there.

okay so unwrapped the extension for tps and that wasn't it. unplugged the section of the wiring that goes into the ecu and no more voltage. how & the hell do i figure out wiring issues past the ecu. could the problem actually be inside the ecu?

Damn your over my head now. Everything I have done to my car and every problem that occurs I keep this in my mind. KISS. Keep it simple stupied. I would just replace the TPS and go from there.

yeah, but this is a step past the tps. It's the wiring going to tps. Either way I do have a tps coming

Dang bro I don't know what to tell you. Good luck. What did your tuner think was wrong with it?

I got with edelbrock and they sent me directions for the tb electrical diag. I'm following them and am stuck on finding the short in the TP2 wire going into the ecu.

I find it hard to believe that out of all the minds & experience on this forum no one has any help other that you.

so fantastic news (sarcasm), went to go to tuner last night and got about a mile. car died. coasted into parking lot, car started again. died again as i was about to pull out. this time no power to the hud or the obdII port. found fuse blown, replaced and car has same codes again. i think there is something causing the tps to go out. first thought is it has to be the 3.76 volts i was/am getting to the tp2 wire is the culprit.
so once again the car is parked in the garage and not moving. i went ahead and put car on storage rates for insurance since it will likely be next year sometime before i can deal with it since i'll be jobless in about a month and a half

I don't know if this has been mentioned but I found a problem with almost the same codes by accident, I had to replace my alternator and when I finished I started the car to check everything out and all was fine, Then for shits and giggles I grabbed some wires and shook them a little bit to make sure all the connectors were tight....When I did that all hell broke loose, motor shook like hell then died, Restarted and all was good again but the cel was own. shook the wires again and the same damn thing.

To make a long story short the problem was the extension wire they give me in the kit for the throttle motor, I took that out and hard wired everything and have never had the problem again.

When I inspected the extension wire that they gave me in the kit after I removed it was inside of the plastic connector, frayed wires were touching if moved around.

Just a thought
