Turbo cams.......springs or no?

I do want to do a set of cams soon. There are a few turbo specific cams out there, whos using what? do the turbo cams usually require springs?

Based on the fact alone that your going to be running aftermarket cams with boost, YES. Even if the cams say they aren't required, Boost can create valve float from the springs being too weak.

Hell, even on 6psi Supercharger setups I've helped people build in the past I've recommended new/high performance springs with higher lift cams. It's only two to three hundred bucks for insurance that most likely will save you from buying a new motor. Not to mention you can run a higher red line which is great if your turbo is still making power at your current red line.

i have heard good things about BBR turbo cams, any one else have any recomendations?

I would defiantly recommend springs. To be honest in my car I didn't want to spend more than I had to so THE ONLY thing I did to the top end of my motor was a set of springs. I figured if I want a little more power I'll add boost. So far I made 823rwhp on stock cams. TurboPete also has stock cams and is making more than that with a little shot added. The part I love about my setup tho is the tq. I make about 10-15 ftlbs more tq than hp every time. Not sure if that is cam related but it seems cam'd cars give a little tq and get a little hp in return. I'd rather have the tq in these heavy ass cars...

i went from 640 whp @ 18psi to 707whp @ 16psi. with the blow by stage 2 cams. my trq ended up the same but more through the rpm range

what he said. It is foolish IMO to forgoe the RIGHT spring in a cam set-up. I say the 'right' spring because it's best to have a pro tell you what the best spring is for your particular cam profile. The springs are far more important IMO than most people give them credit for.

Since I'm going turbo in about a month or two, at most, and I already have NSR Comp Cams Stage II cams, should I upgrade the springs as well.
