1badhrse,

It was your videos in this thread that made me put this kit at the top of my list, love the look and sound. Would you stick with this kit if you did it again? Do you have any pics of the lower half of the cold side work you did?

Badass!

Dave

I would stick with this setup for sure, i would just have gotten bigger turbos which i will end up doing anyway. I am not sure whether or not i have any pictures on the underside with all the intercooler piping on. I would just snap a few but Everything is off now.

And so the tear down Begins!

How did he get ht0 sparkplugs for 35 shipped?

Lmao it was so long ago. Believe i found them on Ebay for a steal and bought two sets. I have a pack waiting for this build...

To Do List (so far):

- Figuring out what the best heating and cooling setup is for the new motor.
- Pull Motor.
- Shave Engine bay of unneeded extras.
- ECU and Fusebox tuck with the Motor out.
- Paint and clear engine bay black after every things all cleaned up.
- Assemble the Built motor with timing Accessories out of the car.

Word of advice Joe about the wire tuck with the motor out. It is hard to judge how long to make the injector and COP wires. Mark a reference point on your wheelwell and work off that.

And you suck for having a lift, I am stuck with horses and a creeper that stops if I run over a dead fly.

I know Greg i am lucky as hell to be doing this all on a lift lol!
What we are attempting to do is relocate the ECU and fuse box along with its wires without having to extend any important ones.

- ECU in the Passenger side fender

- Fuse Box behind passenger side glove box.

Everything may change but as of right now this is the plan.

Anyone have any links to people who have successfully relocated/tucked their wires? I just want to get a couple ideas. We are most likely going to pull the harness out and then back feed it.

Wow.. I only came across Boosheys! That helps out at ton an is basically what we were going for. Thank you for the links! Guess I will be done sooner then later!

What sucks for me though is that the turbo placement in the back doesnt allow me to just directly run the wires right through where the battery sat. The Down pipe would FRY the wires.
What we are going to do is drill a hole behind the intake manifold and route it through where the cabin filter is.

That would probably work pretty good. I had to cut and extend almost all of those wires along with the headlight harness.

Relocated the ABS unit.

Line lock was being a PITA! Used one hole already on the ABS unit then created a tab to "reach around".

what was involved in relocating the ABS?

Used the Stock Mount and modified it to work in the location of choosing.

Very stiff and will bend in a fender bender rather then break.

I am using my stock heads, had them milled, hot tanked and tested. We are probably just going to port match them.

I was just recently told that some porting and polishing on these 3v heads could possibly do wonders on our cars. There are a bunch of people sticking with the stockers, but I really would like to see a fair comparison for what the car would do with some minor head work. If people can pick up 30-40hp on just intake manifold and turbo, its got to be up there with head work and the turbo right?

I agree, the more CFMs you can force through the heads the better. I may eventually upgrade but for now I am just going to see how much i can make with upgraded valve train and some basic head work. I will upgrade my turbos first before i upgrade the heads.
