So take both strap bolts out and just tug that bitch? does it fall all the way down or just enough to slide the mount in?

the bolts are pretty long - remove one side all the way, and then thread it back in a couple of turns (repeat for other side). this will allow you to drop the tank enough to get the UCA bracket up there.

I removed both bolts while supporting the tank with my small floor jack. Once I got everything back in and the driveshaft angle where I wanted it, I put a little green LocTite on the UCA threads so nothing would back out. I put cap bolts back in instead of the goofy torx T50IP plus bolts. You may also have to bend the lip of the tank down near the new UCA and mount. I had to do this on my Steeda UCA and mount.

So is the reason for dropping the tank that the UCA mount won't fall down enough to get the big part under the seat out?

I think putting normal screws back in is a good idea as well.
Do you happen to know the thread size of those bolts?

Its a big pain in the ass. I hated doing mine. I did it twice trying to get it all set up right. Now I want to put the stock one back since its clunking now lol.

Side note, I may need to borrow that torx bit haha

It's really not that bad at all when you are doing the UCA and mount at the same time! Much worse if you replace one without the other.

Use a jack to put pressure on one side of the tank, remove strap bolt, put your new bolt in just a few threads....keep pressure on the tank until you get the new bolt in, the old bolt will come out 10x easier without the weight of the tank on it.

Then switch to the other side of the tank, take care of that bolt then Remove the 3 bolts holding the mount in, the 4th bolt holding the UCA bolt to the diff.

And I believe the gas tank bolts are 8mm, either 1.5 thread or 1.25 thread, 60mm long.

I think once you've done it you'll find it isn't as bad as it seemed like it was going to be. I could do the job again much quicker the second time. Take your time with it.

People complain about this job but honestly it doesn't even come close to a clutch job or anything like that. This is nothing.
