Hey, Terry, would this be an option for someone who wants to run some super-wide tires front and rear without quite as many sheet metal modifications, or do you think this kit is more for "hard parkers"?

Besides what Jason noted above, I'll put my money on hard parker just based on the things Terry highlighted on the design of their flares. The back of the tire needs to be open and it lacks any substantial fender vents. Not to mention it looks unnecessarily heavy and the "Brake Ducts" are unnecessarily large... That kit adds more tire but is not aerodynamically ideal.

It lacks adequate venting also and it isn't really all that practical for a road racing tire setup since the front fenders are still designed for a 9.5" wheel and 275 tires. Looks nice though and certainly less "ricer-ish" than the APR one. Chalk that one up for hard parkers too.


You'd be better off buying this when its ready for sale. Except that it stupidly doesn't cover the whole front face of the tire.

Kinda what I was thinking. Much better put together and looks OEM.

And while the kit is "designed" for 9.5" tires, it adds 3" to the width up front. If people are already running 10" and 11" wide up front, I would gamble you could fit a 12" wide up front with this kit.

And hell, SIX INCHES added in the rear? You could run some huge ass tires with that.

I agree though, it lacks good venting and seems better suited for a sweet street ride than a track car.

You're gonna have to enlighten me. I'm not following. The RE-11 275-40-18 is 200, the RE-11 275-35-18 is 180. How does "because RE-11a" solve that little mystery? And I thought the RE-11a would be stickier than the original, which should imply a lower tread wear. Unless you're implying the 35 series I have is secretly a RE-11a in disguise. Stop speaking in goddamn riddles man! You're making me guess a bunch of silliness.

Rocket bunny mustang kit? I think bridging the gap that leaves the front tire exposed to air would be simple with some spats (coming up from the splitter)--if that's what they're called. I'm interested to see what a matching rear would look like.

Some guy who had a kickstarter last year to make these. Hillburn automotive is the name but I don't know much about them or any progress. The kickstarter was to fund a vehicle like his renders that could be shown off at SEMA 2014.

Terry, are you guys planning anything to replace the rear bumper with the exhaust cutouts? It looks incomplete left in place as it is. I think a diffuser would finish off the back end of the car nicely.

If you look at the 'specs' tables at Tire Rack . . . particularly the RE-11 table.

With all the "competition" interest in 200 TW, you'll be seeing some odd things with respect to treadwear ratings, at least for a while.

But still not as odd as the deal with Pirelli's 'Corsa' tire of a few years back, which made the ST exclusion list because only one or two of the sizes were below minimum ST* spec.
