I am making this thread to get peoples opinions on the Walbro 405 pump for use with E85. I have recently seen different threads on different forums about failures with using these pumps and E85.
I know Justin Fore has been testing them with alcohol and the results only show a 15% life lost compared to gasoline.
I know Lethal used to sell them with there kits for E85 compatibility, but they don't anymore and they're taken the pumps back for exchange for the 465 LPH.
According to Walbro, the only pump that they make that is E85 compatible is 465 LPH.

I'm looking for opinions from people that know about this pump.
Thanks

do you mean the walbro 450? i am running 3 of these.

I had the 405's fail in my car in less than a year with only a few thousand miles on them.

the 450 is what you want

According to many people (including Justin Fore) the only pumps compatible with E85 are the 465s. Not sure if they are 450s but I thought they are 465.
I was told and read that 405s are the better route for the money. But after seeing these failures I'm not sure now.

I have the Deatchworks 340's in triple pump in my ride with only E85... so far so good!

I first had the Aeromotive Stealth pumps and all three failed within a few months.

I am also waiting to see more results. I am using twin 405's and was planning on swapping to E85 shortly, but.....

*sigh.... How to subscribe to a thread

I am running two 405s. Have been for a year or so. So far no issues with them. But not running E85 either. So no real help other than to say that I have been running a pair of the pumps you are asking about for over a year without one shitting the bed....yet....

My local shop told me the same thing, said the pumps failed on a Camaro on E85 and to get the 460-465 whatevers instead.

I called Walbro, and Walbro told me, "the 400's WILL fail with E85"
