Want a Strut tower brace, but have Camber Plates????

I want to get a strut tower brace, but I have the Maximum Motorsport Caster/Camber plates. Is there one out there that I can use. The body man at my local Ford dealer says they are a must for these cars. He says he's seen a lot of them get bent with minor accidents where the towers are weak without the braces.

Well, I'm no "bodyman", but I doubt you'll be driving the car hard enough to NEED a stb.

Now if you simply want one, I don't think the plates should have any effect on that. The bolt holes for the strut towers don't change because you have some plates that adjust the camber.

And yes, this probably will get ugly, LOL!!

Just put it on you will be fine. I noticed the difference in handling when I had mine and when I had to take it off.

The 2007+ Mustangs have stiffer strut towers. I had invested in a strut tower brace and I couldn't tell a difference with or without.

I think the plates prevents the STB from seating properly.

If you think you need to tighten up the body between the strut towers you can always have someone fab up a bar going between the fenders right next to the towers. It's and old school method that we used to use back in the day. I think it is called a Sally Bar or something like that. Some guys use to make a triangle of it with the third point being on the center of the firewall. The only guys that used to do this were the ones who could pull there front runners off the ground when they launched.

The strut mount bolts don't move though, at least with the plates that I have. Isn't that what stb's mount to?

Yep, the camber plates use their own bolts and they are not as long as the factory studs, plus the plate is already on top so there is no room to add the strut brace on top of the camber plates.

And I don't think I'm going to be driving that hard, he said that he had worked on several that had minor to major accidents and the towers were very easily bent and they were never the same afterwords.

The bolt holes don't change but the bolts that it mounts to do.

Yeah, there is like no room to play with on the MM's. Plus if I take the nuts off I'll have to get the car aligned again, but that's not that big of a deal.

I was hoping someone on here had discovered a brace that has super thin ends on it or something that would work with the MM plates since they are so popular. I

I have a chrome one for sale in the classifieds that has a very "thin" mounting plate .....

not sure on brand I swapped a friend for it .....but I can tell you the mounting plate is thin but uses all 4 bolts . Now it does conform perfectly to the top of the strut tower ( the middle has a little hump in it ) ....as far as price i think I had it at like 90-100 shipped dunno I'd have to check lol

Just get one that only uses the the 2 inside studs on each side. I have the steeda one fits and looks great and i def feel the difference when its off especialy taking those highway on/off ramps at 60mph.

I wouldn't even bother with a stb anyways. Useless mod unless your into hard-core autocross or road course racing.

Is there some big debate about whether or not to use the braces that sets people on here off.
I know on the BMW forum WWIII got started over an Automatics vs Manuals thread. So far it don't look too bad on here yet over this.
