i wasnt agreeing with you, clearly i was saying the 50% of people that bought "Hot Rod" cams didnt know any better. why you ask? well SD put it about as well as i can THEY SUCK!

Look...the guys at FRPP knew that there was a certain portion of the market that wanted cams for the sound. They then ground up a set of cams that would give these particular people that sound. It is called Niche` Marketing. They can make some coin off of these people so they did. No big deal. I don't have too much of a problem with the reasoning behind the FRPP Hot Rod cams.

What I have a problem with is someone attempting to convince me that they are anything other than "sound" cams. Tell me they are serious performance camshafts and I'll tell you that you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground.

I have the thumpr's as well...when i first had them installed and put a canned tune for they I hated them! Went and got a custom tune now I love them...before the custom tune the driveability was terrible..it was hard to leave the line and I have 4.10's. I am sure there are better cams but I rarely drive my car and really do like the sound....not sure whos post was earlier about a good base tune but that probably your problem. I heard several people say these were hard to tune....but again my tuner did a great job and I love them now.

what is the power diff. from the hot rods and comps. I have 127200's and they both add approx. 25-30hp. I should have went bigger.but isn't konablue running high 11's NA on the hotrods?he makes a little more hp than me (10 I think) and has a couple more mods,but I think it all eqauls out as far as cams go.

I'm with US-1 regarding his opinion on the FRPP Hot Rod Cams. I had a long, ongoing argument with some members on another website, about the performance gains these cams give. I had contact with several nationally known tuners, and they said that the Comp NSR Stage 2 cams were better for performance. They just don't really do anything for sound. BTW, everytime someone shows hp gains with the FRPP's, they always have LTs, aftermarket cai, and other bolt-ons. The Brenspeed site shows a 20 hp gain with the Comp NSR Stage 2 cams, a C&L Racer cai, but everything else stock on their 2005+ GT test car.
