Installed my Steeda cai and Bama tune. (I know, I know)

Probably gonna order a lund or vmp tune on monday.

What's wrong with Bama? been a while since I paid attention to tuners but I remember people saying they were pretty good

Nothing wrong with BAMA tunes, except that there are better ones out there. But their's are pretty safe and conservative.
Compared to stock theirs are major improvements and reasonably priced.

First off the CAI adds nothing on these cars except a crappier air filter. Second, I have a canned VMP tune on mine (never been on a dyno) and it fucking rocks! It's as strong or stronger than my Bullitt with the M90. You would think that I would have a hard time transitioning from a supercharged car back to a naturally aspirated car but it really has a lot of power.

Ive read a lot of people saying their AF was way off on their bama tunes among countless other issues. Personally ive never had issues with bama but ive read enough negative things that makes me want to go a different route for a long term tune.

+1 on VMP! I've ran his tune in my N/A GT for a few years now and car feels great. Car put down 315rwhp/335rwtq with just bolt ons.
(Ford racing CAI/Shorty Headers, Steeda UDP's & Aluminum Driveshaft & Corsa Mufflers)

I ran the gammit with Bama & Brenspeed but Justin's tune really woke the car up and I still get 25+ MPG when I'm traveling on the highway.

You're about the 1,000th i've heard say that but I've seen before and after dyno sheets that prove otherwise. CAI dont gain the 30hp or whatever they claim but there is some gains to be had even if its 5-10hp as well as the underhood appearance benefit as well as the increased sound.

LOL @ dyno numbers. Proof is the car isnt faster with a cai. Its for looks and sound and when you have exhaust its only good for looks.

I had my Ford Racing Pro-Cal tune installed today. Really liking the improved responsiveness.

Bama for me was good with just a basic intake/exhaust tune and the car ran fine. Once you go to do more upgrades like I did with cams, tb, manifold and blower Bama seriously falls on their asses. My car ran like crap with their hot rod cam tune and after retuning with Lito its absolutely perfect.

Bama continually changes tuners with good reason. They continue to have issues with whoever is doing the tuning.

Dyno sheets are worth about as much as the paper it's printed on.

You do realize on a dyno the hood is up and there's a giant fan on it? Sure an aftermarket CAI will work in that setting. But for real world driving on the street the stock "true" CAI is hard to improve upon.

The other factor to consider on the CAI is that the factory airbox actually draws cool air from the grill while all the aftermarket CAI kits are at least partially open to the hot engine compartment. Just how cool is the air being drawn from next to a hot engine?

Again, my car makes enough power for me as it sits. I didnt buy it searching for gobs of increased power. Besides I got it on sale for almost $100 off the price tag. Im building my car to my liking, not to make other people happy.

The Steeda one actually seals to the hood liner almost perfectly and utilizes the factory duct as well, unlike the JLT or a few of the other cheaper intakes.

No one is arguing the point on your build to "your" liking. The point we're making is the stock airbox has proven to outperform the aftermarket stuff.

As far as your Bama tune goes how did your logs look? You did log the tune didn't you?

Nope I did not datalog it. I started it up and thats about it. I probably wont drive the car for another month or two anyway, and I will have my Lund or VMP tune by then. I just wanted to get the intake installed and out of my den.
