i disagree the mx5500 have a much better feel than the mx517 and g11 and it has a more4 ergonomic design :owned2:

If you're a queer and need it to be wireless, sure. Anyways you know what they say about opinions. Opinions are like assholes and everyone's stinks but yours. :owned2:

I had the pro 5.0 on the stock trans and liked it. In fact I have Ron's old pro 5.0. I'm in the process (way to slow process) of swapping to a T56 trans and it has a modified pro 5.0 shifter to work in the 05 mustang. I'll see how I like that one.

Dude he may be queer for needing a wireless, but man up and get a real keyboard and mouse like the G5 and the G15. The G5 definately has man card tester. It comes with weights that you add depending on how limp wristed you are!

MGW in the garage wait to be installed after I get home from camping...i'll post back next week with my first thoughts. I've always had pro5.0 in my others mustangs but keep hearing pretty much nothing but good about mgw so we'll see.

You really need limiters if you are going to use a good aftermarket shifter. Otherwise when everyhting moves out of alignment during a hard launch(thanks to our body mount shifter) you have powershift issues. This is because you dont have all the sloppy rubber bushings to allow the shifter to line up.

MGW is very good. Its a seriously overdesigned piece. Most of the people that say "notchy" adjust the handle to short and the throw to short. Go middle of the road on throw and long on the handle. You will also be able to adjust the handle placement to your liking. In my car its set so 3rd is about where 2nd used to be. In otherwords I have it farther back and to the left. No more long reach for 3rd on powershifts. With that said Ive used most aftermarket shifters and although it feels awful its really hard to beat the factory shifter for speed of powershifts. If it was just farther back and to the left, set up a bit higher like a proper race shifter and didnt feel like a stick in a bowl of oatmeal.

got the mgw installed tonight and it didn't take long at all. It was raining out so i didn't go for a drive but I like it so far from what i've felt of it...my torque limiters and kmember brace will be here hopefully tomorrow or tuesday then i'll be good to go. The only other thing i want is prothane motor mounts to seal the deal.

Anyone want to make a comment about how their aftermarket shifter feels on a 5th to 3rd downshift-or even a 5th to 4th downshift? I do a lot of highway driving on 2 lane, short passing zone routes and use a lot of 5th to 3rd downshifts.

Also, I read something about ford improving the shifter in the '08 and up models. Anyone know anything for sure as I am yet to miss a 2-3 powershift with my stocker in my '09 but I remember complaining about the shifter after driving an '05?

On my 3650 I had the MGW - Didin't like it, too notchy no matter the setting. After that I had the Hurst Comp Billet, it was better than MGW but still notchy and had an annoying rattle. Best shifter I had on the 3650 was the stock shifter.

On my 6060 I had the Pro 5.0. Loved it. The only reason I don't have it now is because I got the Shelby short throw. It has 2 stabilizer arms and is the only shifter for the 6060 with stops. It is an amazing shifter.

I changed my stock 08 to the Steeda. I love the Steeda. I tried out the Rousch yesterday in a 2010. The rousch is much shorter then my Steeda, but my Steeda feels awesome. I am happy with it, and have no intention of changing it. It shift just fine for me, and I go to the track all the time.

I'm again digging up an old topic for some more current opinions/feedback.

I actually called and spoke to Hurst (B&M) today regarding the rattling on their shifters from a few years back. They told me a "vibration kit" is now included with their set-up i.e dynamat, loc-tite, etc . They also told me it was a Ford issue on how the transmission is installed/designed. Not sure what to think about that. I love the look of the Hurst and actually dig the notch-shift feel and sound.....but am scared of an annoying rattle.

The Pro 5.0 with the Hurst stick sounds intriguing.

How about some current opinions/experiences?

Thanks again in advance.

Don't worry you'll be happy as a clam when you get it. I had a roush it was short and very notchy but found it very difficult to power shift with it. I have driven with both hursts the steeda the pro 5.0 the b&m and a stocker with the saleen block and upgraded bushings and in the end all I can say is.. buy an mgw

thanks
Dan
