Im in the market for a set of projectors but Im not sure which ones to get and which ones are good. I was thinking about h1 retrofits but I dont care for the way they look and the raxiom 2010 style projectors look kind of cool but theyre technically for hids. What are you guys running?

I saw an 05-09 stang with the raxiom 10 style headlights with hids and it looked nice but I wasnt in the car so who knows how it casts light.

Those look good on your stang man. Mine is stock and I have the feeling itd look weird with the faux side markers and halos. Have you thought about going to hids? Ive read that theyd work in those lights but the cutoff wouldnt be right and there could be hot spots

Whatever you do dont go with the smoked lenses. I had those and even with HID's the light output sucked. Cutoff was fine however.

Cool thanks kylar. The only problem Im having now is whether or not Ill get those headlights over retrofits. Im just not sure how well theyll jive with my stang. If they didnt have the turn signal within the headlight housing Id jump on them in a heartbeat but I feel like it might look weird with amber in the bumper and in the headlights.

The Raxioms surprisingly have pretty decent projectors with decent light output and cutoffs.

I have both versions of their headlights and with good quality HIDs you will get 200x better visibility over stock halogens.

They are a great choice if you are not looking to retrofit them.

I have the headlights Scott has opened up right now cuz I can't stand the cheap halos they use.

Are u gonna remove the halos? Yea Im not a fan either. I with someone would make a projector headlight that looked like the stockers but had projectors and were black with clear lenses. I dont care for all the frilly shit, ya know

why not open up the raxioms, put REAL hid projectors in (mini h1, or mini d2s from TRS) and enjoy some awesoe output, with the styling you want?

hell, on a budget? grab some from the closeout section to save a few bucks.

I'm keeping the halos because there is an opening for it. But upgrading to cob halos not the fake ccfl raxiom puts in there..

I was going to put better projectors in them but the ones raxiom used aren't that bad at all. They are bixenons and have a good cutoff.

raxiom uses HID projectors in their headlights? or do you mean that you put an H13 HID bulb in the halogen projector they come with?

They are actually using HID projectors and selling them with halogen bulbs.

So I put h7 hid bulbs in them and work wonderfully.

Of these were halogen projectors I wouldn't have such a nice cut off and beam pattern.

Riiiiiiight.

Oh also, hid projectors come in h1, and legitimate hid bulbs only (d2s, etc)

Retrofit all the way, just my opinion. I did some for my F150 and it was the best money I ever spent on that truck. The light output was crazy! I'll be doing some for my mustang eventually. I've got to do the sound system and exhaust first though!

Here is a picture of the ones I did for my F150. When I do the mustang I'll be using different hardware(projectors, bulbs, etc.) I got their entry level kit and it was great, but I will upgrade for the mustang.

This also shows how well made these damn things are. I got hit on the passenger side by a person running a stop light going 40-50mph, right in the quarter panel/wheel. Headlight lens and around the projector shattered, but the projector still looked good. Unfortunately I couldn't salvage them as I didn't want to deal with it and the hood would not open(there are tabs under the hood to pop the headlights out.)
