Why are long tubes a pain in the ass?

Looks great. Glad to read a good report on these. Also good to hear about the Pypes X piece fitting in there since I have an ORH from them. Would you say that the motor mounts are necessary for install or just something you'll want down soon after?

Well, with these you get 2 offroad H pipes. One that is your typical straight pipes. The other (the one I'm using) will pass visual inspection because it has resonators.

I did the Prothane motor mounts with the headers. I wouldn't say they're NECESSARY, but they definitely raised the engine a bit. You could probably shim the stock washers if you didn't want to replace them. They make the car shake a little more with the cams. It's fun. Also fix sloppy 1-2 shift.

That looks awesome man. Damn you though, I want headers again...

For $500 there's really not much more you could ask for. I'm happy with the purchase. I like that they are full length LTs.

If it's anything like the 3v, you'll be fine. Easy. Just a bit time consuming. I was really worried about it being hard after some of these posts and the fact I went with Chinese headers that don't have much of a following on here.

Got the car on the stands, pulled the old midpipe, unbolted the starter, motor mounts and brackets, removed the old manifolds, slid the new ones in place and bolt everything back up! Had to do some modifying of the midpipes to prevent leaks, but not a big deal. It helps having a buddy who knows his way around cars.

Remember Austin, old guys like me think it is a pain because you have to get up and down from under the car a million times. You youngins don't have this problem

Once my long tubes get here I will have some fun installing them.

Luckly I have been a since 1988, and have a bunch of tools that should make it easier.

Plus the I will do it at work.

can leave the struts up on the car but I decided to get them out of the way to avoid smashing my head into them crawling out from under the car.

Even installing my MAC long tubes with my motor was a bit of a squeeze.

The next time I take my motor out, or swap headers, or any of that I will be dropping the K member with the motor and transmission on it.
