^ that's one hot, red GT ya got there!
Man, this thread rocks!
Could it be that living in Washington with the differences in climate that you aren't seeing a whole lot of heatsoak compared to the person in TX?
Aren't the Saleen's limited in what they can do and get heat soaked fairly easily? I do recall an entire thread about ways to fight it with the Saleen blower a little while back. But it sure does look the best out of all the options lol.
Saleen Service manual states "50,000 miles change the oil"
If needed a rebiuild is $875 shipping is what it is.
It only needs a rebuild if it needs a rebuild.
People in other states report low iats with a Whipple too. At the end of the quarter with 13 psi on a high 70's low 80's day the most I saw was 114 degrees. It climbed up once the throttle was shut down but came down pretty quick on the return road drive. This was while hot lapping.
Normal driving was about 10-20 over ambient. Once again others in other parts of the country have reported the same results. My sensor was placed in an intake runner.
All I can do is report my experiences. I have nothing to gain by misrepresenting anything.
The coolest supercharger I had was a Paxton at 8-9psi. It was also the best bang for the buck I've had. I started with a non intercooled tuner kit and made my own intercooler setup. A dob would be less expensive though.
The hottest was a Procharger at 19psi. It still ran fairly cool though.
And if you are running a M122 you can simply buy a replacement blower for $400 and swap it on in about an hour.
The Saleen service interval is 20,000-25,000mi. It costs about $1000 plus $200 in shipping for a rebuild, you will be without a running car for a few weeks and it's a PITA to box everything up for shipping.
Eaton blowers are designed to be used in OEM applications. The OEM's have MUCH higher standards than the aftermarket when it comes to durability and quality.
All of the aftermarket blowers, Whipple, Kenne Bell, Saleen, etc, etc, etc need to be serviced a LOT more than the Eaton blowers do.

I like the factory look of the DOB kit!
Really there are no "bad" blowers out there (except maybe the M90).
Really..... it's that bad?
I like the m90 for what it is.
Everything has it's limits.
If it makes you feel better I think every blower is a bad blower...that is why I have a hair dryer. I am under the mind set that anything with parasitic lose is against what we all try to do with our cars, squeezing every last drop out of them without sacrificing to much. I find it hilarious seeing all the drive-ability issues with cams and heads and all sorts of things that people do to try and squeeze what that can out of something that takes nothing more than a turn of a knob for me...I agree with this statement. I like the fact that the M90 provides a little bit of security for a guy just getting started in the FI department. I have caught the bug for more now, but I am also three years in... and honestly, the ~400rwhp it has it pretty fun for a reasonably motor safe street car. As little as 10 years ago, 400hp was a pretty good sized number, so why is it all that bad now?
Are there better blowers out there... yup.... and I want a TVS2300. But I also know I am rolling the dice unless I forge the motor. I was originally going to respond to the OP that the M90 is great for the wife's car IMO, but after he mentioned "upgradeable" I knew not to bother.
With all that said, is the M90 really all that bad that you have to single it out to hint at the idea that it is the "only" bad blower? If so............
....... then I have an M90 for sale. LOL
