I'm not sure I'd want to try this on an FI car. I believe this function cuts fuel, not spark. I'd be afraid to go lean.

So this basically will ALWAYS limit the revs while the clutch is pressed in?

It always limits the revs when the car is in neutral. So clutch in or clutch out doesn't matter. If the car is not moving the revs are limited.

I would think so. And removing the tape on the switch would put it back to normal maybe?

I'd love to get this working...

Just curious qwikhuh, are you using the pro racer software?

Remove the tape and everything returns to normal. I am going to wire up a switch and a relay for my car now so I can bypass the clutch plunger with a toggle switch.

I am an SCT dealer so I use the Advantage software. The Pro Racer will allow you to do the same thing though

So were do we get the two step file from? I have tried this before and had no success

I posted above exactly where it is in the software. Again your tuner needs to add it to your file

I used the two step all day yesterday and it worked perfectly.

That is going to be BAD ASS! A toggle switch will literally be a on/off for the 2 step.

Thanks for all the info!

I'll take some pics and put a wiring diagram when I get a chance. For now I want to celebrate my 11 sec pass, clean up the car, and put it away for the winter.

There are 2 switches on the clutch pedal. The one you want to close is the top one. It is red, about 2 inches long, and has a black plunger on it.

I'll do a whole tech article and post it on the CJ Pony Parts website with pictures and a video of the car on the 2 step

I'll post vids as soon as my friend gets a chance to upload them. Probably in a couple days. Here is a pic of the car leaving off the 2 step

If you are using ANY SCT device you need the Two Step file loaded in your tune by your tuner. You can access the adjustments in the user parameters but the feature is not turned on until your tuner adds it. It is not a switch in the tune, it is an actual value value that needs to be added.

The two step rev limit is so easy to add to any pre-existing files. I offer it as a free update for any customer with a track file or all-out tune that wants it done. It works phenomenally!

Good to hear, my tuner updated mine last week, I've not had a chance to upload and try it. I'm thinking of maybe fabbing up a "Swing Arm" to hold down the clutch pedal when I go to the track. Just gotta get under the dash and see how it looks.

Anyone have the pics of the plunger that needs to be taped?

No pic, but it's the top one. There are two plunger type switches on the clutch pedal, one that sits horizontally that is about midway up the pedal, and the other is at the very top and sits vertically... Tape the top one.

Well I just contacted Brenspeed to get my 2 step controls unlocked and they say it can't be done on the 05+. Hmmmm? O well.

They were able to do it for me, Sept 07

I started out with a toggle switch instead of tape. I found that for me the only thing the toggle switch had effect on was the two step feature. I ended up taking the toggle switch out and wiring around the clutch pedal position switch all together.

It works flawlessly for me.

Just thought I would throw my 2 cents in. The SCT 2 step does work and will probably make your launch more consistent but it will slow you down overall. I've done extensive testing with it and it caused the 60's to be consistently .05 or more slower. It just doesn't react quick enough coming off it. A normal spark style 2 step will work better.
