It just doesn't react quick enough coming off it. A normal spark style 2 step will work better.
can you elaborate on this?
do you mean that once you launch you then hit the limiter after the car is in motion?

so your 60' and 330' suffer? the car doesnt make the power (runs rich in effect if I understand your comment) and that's where you lose time? No, I mean the car is lazying coming off the 2 step. I think it may be cause it cuts fuel and not spark. Either way, I guarantee the car will be slower with using it.

so this is the plunger to tape down I take it?
I am bringing this back from the dead.
Dave, did you ever test this and get any results? As in, did you 60s increase?.....
Since this thread is here just an FYI american muscle sent me a tune like this as requested, and it did work without me having to do anything with a switch or get under where the pedals are, I just loaded the tune set my neutral rev limit and that was my two step and it worked perfectly, you probably want to talk to chris rose at AM about that.
Pretty sure AM needs turn it on in the tune.Is this something that just comes with our tunes from AM. I just received my Tuner/Intake from them this month. What did you do once your tune was loaded to turn this option on and adjust the rpms?
Pretty sure AM needs turn it on in the tune.
Yeah I am also curious to see how many people are using this and having it work correctly. I had american muscle put the 2step in my tune last week and I tested it this last weekend at the track. As far as holding the rpms at what you set it, it worked great. The issue I was having was everytime I shifted to 2nd or 3rd it would act as if it would bog for a second or two before it started pulling again. I'm not sure what they do in the tune to get the 2step to work correctly. I was guessing maybe they are pulling timing or something everytime the clutch is engaged? I made 7 passes on this tune trying to get my launch right and I had this happen everytime I would shift and it didn't feel like it pulled as hard as my last race tune. I ended up throwing my performance tune back on after getting frustrated with this issue, and I picked up 2 tenths in the 1/8 mile. I havent had a chance to contact american muscle about this issue and probably wont till later this week, but I'm sure they will make it right yet.
Am claims you don't need to... But hey lemme know if It makes a difference
