Flaming rivers rack with bmr k member

Trying to install a flaming rivers manual rack with a bmr k memeber and wondered what people have done as far as bolt? New rack didnt come with new bolts and the stock bolts are not long enough plus the nut is welded to the stock k member. Figured i could just go to lowes and get a bolt the same grade and size, just longer with a nut that fits but thought id ask everyones advice. For the price id have thought flaming rivers could have spent a few bucks and included new bolts and nuts but maybe the stock ones work with the stock k.

maybe it was supposed to and they happened to make a mistake, also you treid calling them and asking them for the thread specs on the nut on the k member to that you can make sure it threads properly

ah ok, yeah then i'd just go get some nice titanium bolts and nuts.

i've always just got some grade 8 bolts and locking nuts. good to go for a couple bucks and an excuse to shop at lowes

on the stock K-member and the steering rack, are you talking about the two 18mm nuts and bolts at the top of the rack that hold the rack in place?

im at lowes a few times a day picking up stuff for the apartment building im rehabing, dont really need an excuse to shop there but prob what ill do lol

yes, those are the 2 im talking about, theryre not long enough to fix through the rack and the bmr mounts, plus the nuts welded to the stock k...

Hmm, They should not be welded. My 06 and Gregs 2010 were not welded when we did the K-members. They are just freaking tight as hell and a PIA to remove. Get you some longer grade 8 bolts and washers.

seemed to be tach welded, i took the bolts off before i realized they werent long enough cause im swapping both at the same time. nuts were def still attached to the k member. ill check later, maybe theyre not welded but didnt come off with the bolts out. and cars an 06 also

Here is a picture of mine (when I had the mod motor). I went with some Grade 8 bolts/washers/nuts.

Also, what outer tie rod ends did you use? for some reason when i ordered it i was thinking it would come with them, apparently misread jpc's site
