Here's some pictures and video's of Don's runs today. Don is very happy with the last run. I had to leave and I think Donna was going to race next.
Like to thank Adam for coming out and bring his family also. Adam wanted to make sure everything was okay and to make any adjustments to the tune. There were no adjustments needed, the race tune was dead on.
As always Ed... thank YOU very much for being there. You are a helluva friend! And thanks for the video, too! We didn't get home until 2am, so I haven't had much time yet this morning. haha. I'll have some vids soon. We made 6 runs total.
And a
big +1 to Adam for coming down to make sure everything was fine. It was great to see his wife and kids again, too!!
That KB screams out of the hole like my whipple. Guess the 2.4 isn't so quiet after all.....
Great run at the end, 6.83 is pretty stout as I could only guess what the DA must have been today---it was hot. 4000?
Oh and Don---your car is lookin good now. All washed, new bumper and front spoiler, gas door is on. Did you notice that as soon as the silver was off the car, the car slowed down? Those Bogarts are lookin good on there too.
It was almost 100 degrees on the first run, DA was 5,075. The 2nd was 4,370, and the 3rd one in Ed's vid was at 3,828. The rest of the night was around 3,400-3,500.
And considering the weather... I'm thinking the silver was holding it back at Irwindale.
Woohoooo!!!! Way to go Don. Bet it felt great getting behind the wheel and down the track again. Been a long year for you guys. Glad to see things coming together!
It
has been a long time... and yes, it felt great!!
nice runs... couple of nice old muscle cars there in the last two runs!
is it me... or did Don red light on the last two????
That is what is fun for me... running door to door with some old school muscle!
Yes, I went red a couple times... I was experimenting. After almost 11 months, I need to re-learn what this thing wants. But the good news is, my
worst light of the weekend was 0.059.
He did red light; nonetheless, awesome runs. The old Challenger and Chevy Vega that Don ran against were there last week. The Vega sounds sick (in a good way).
The driver of the Vega is Don Julian... he is also one of the track owners. It's a new car for him, too. He told me in the lanes that it was running 6.70s, so when I was right on his bumper at the end, I knew I probably had my first 6!!
Hey Don, did Adam custom make your windshield banner? All the ones I have seen say Spankin Time Motorsports, I like the ST Motorsports alot better.
Looks like the car is ready for FFW.
I told him I wouldn't put a Spankin Time banner on. haha. I think all of the new ones he has are ST.
