first pass

Ok so here is the video. This is the 7.00@102 with a 1.68 60ft. First time back in for years felt good. Also first time to run the 1/8 only and first time on a pro tree. I did make 3 passes before just to dial in the 1st gear shift and get the tire psi and the shock settings down. This was the first pass that hooked. If anyone has any advice on stoping the tire spin at the 1-2 shift I am all ears.

you need a different converter I think.

Great runs regardless and with more boost it may end up being just right.

I left on the foot brake at only 2500 rpms. Still just testing everything.

How would the converter effect the shift? Too loose and throwing the power at the track?

No, just looking at the 60 foot time. I looked up my old 1/8th mile slips and when I was trapping 102mph in the 1/8th I was in the 6.80s with 60's times in the 1.5Xs, and I was in the 6.70s with 60' times in the 1.4Xs @ 102mph......so I guess what I am saying is the potential for 6.70s is there with that mph.

So with 1.7X 60' times, I think your converter is too tight now, but, when you up the boost increasing torque, it may end up being just right as the converter will loosen up when the engine puts out more torque.

Continue to test and when you end up at the boost level that you plan on staying at we could look again at your timeslips.

What wheel/tire set up did you have on for this pass?

Nitto drs, 305/35/20 @ 18 psi. On the wheels in my sig. (street trim)

Here is the pass in the video above where I lifted. On both watch the yellow line on the 1-2 shift. A little spin there I think. Also notice the boost on analog 2, it is spiking to 18 psi some with the 16 psi spring in the WG.

Here is the race after. Notice the red line, no lift on the throttle. LOL

I also set the shift point 2 mph lower to try and help with the spin but, no luck.

Really Billy? an 800rwhp car on DR's 20's????

I am the farthest thing to a drag racing expert but I am sure that this will be a fun ride.

Only 18psi in your tires and they are 20s? With the limited sidewall I would think you are losing some contact in the center of the tire with the pressure that low? Have you done a burnout where you can look at the contact patern? I have to have aboutt 40 psi in my 20"nittos before the burnout doesnt look like its only contacting by the bead on each side

LMAO! Gotta test that street trim no?

I would imagine the car will never see the race gas tune on the DRs. LOL

Now what ever it makes on the 3.9 with the WG well... that is another story. That will be the street max tune I guess. Those are the two I will test on the street to see where the aits affect both and decide where to stay at with the street tune or (street/learn how to drive tune for the track before you run the race gas tune) HAHAAHA

The race tune on the 3.9 pulley with c16 will never see the DRs after the dyno runs.

Anything above 20 psi, I blow though the tire in first.

I can do a burn out on the "back road" one day this week to test the pattern though.

I am not close to the sidewall though. What size rims do you have?

Just to be clear mine are NT05s and not dr but they do need a lot of heat to get any traction

Yea, that is a diferent story.

These are 20 DRs with a 28" dia. and about 12.5" of contact. They are the 305/35/20 Nitto DRs.

thats what i run on the street with a 10" shelby wheel!

They are a good tire for sure. Back in when I first bought them I pulled some 1.5x and several 1.60 60 ft times on them. I never had traction issues with them before running a 10.6x times. This is the first time I have ever had to worrying about traction after first gear. I'm guessing the new trans and converter maybe the reason for the spin. Hell it may be the fact that I just need more seat time to figure the car out. That starts again on Fri. night! :thumb2:
