dynoed car today.

paxton 2200sl with 3.8, stock intake manifold and exhaust manifolds, lethal 3" off road x, id1000, kb bap, jlt cai

first pull was with jlt 628 hp and 500 tq
second pull we removed the jlt 639 hp and 515 tq

Color me unsurprised... it would have been nice to see what the numbers looked like with the stock airbox too though ...

Try a small piece of silicone w a short piece of tubing the same size and your inlet. A velocity stack would be even better. But just the extended inlet can help you a little bit. Straightens the air before going into the blower. Fills the space between impellers a little better. Don't tell nobody I told ya. :beerdrink:

Back on topic..

How hard is he this mother F-er to install start to finish..

How many snags did you run into where you felt like throwing a wrench through a wall and lighting the garage on fire..

Right now I'm debating on just taking it to beefcake and letting them sort everything out.

I'm quite mechanical I've done heads / cam / long tubes / vortech / single turbo installs, but never once has anything went smooth or never once did I not have a bucket of bolts left over..

If its a simple install that is only time consuming ill do it.. If its a shitty fitting SOB ill pay the pro to do it..

Would you do it again ? or save the nightmare and pay a shop like beefcakes?

From the sounds of it, you are way more mechanically inclined than me. It didn't seem too entirely difficult to me. There were some snags here and there, but nothing major. You can do it no problem.

On the other hand, taking it to Beefcake would be easier and might eliminate any doubts.

Its really not bad at all, read twice and cut once (fan shroud). If you did the heads, LTs you will be able to do it no problem.

2nd pull without JLT? What did you replace the JLT with for 2nd pull?

Has anyone done the Paxton install on a car with the GT/CS-Boss 302 front bumper? If so, how much needs to be cut and are the fog lights still functional? I'm leaning toward the paxton kit but i don't know if i want to hack up the bumper and ditch the fogs. Its either the paxton or a roush tvs...

With a 11-12 the fog lights are a no go. You will not really notice the cutting but you will.not be able to use the fog lights.

The TVS is a good choice. I suggest vmp's tvs over roush.

just like w2gfst posted it's a no go with the intercooler and the fogs. Unless you get your own custom fab'd piping. And You cannot tell where you cut if you do it right and straight

I see... Another reason why I am leary of a centri is because a friend of mine put a paxton on his 2010 GT. I know the 4.6L and 5.0L make power at different levels but on the 4.6 it felt like the car was only in boost very little time before he had to shift. Felt like a turd until around 4000 rpms...

What's it run at the track? What's the differences In et and mph?

i have only run it without jlt at the track. first time out i ran 10.80 at 127. the car was still geared for na with 4.10's so i was shifting into 5th and killing my mph and et. it should go 10.50's now with a 3.55 gear. i will be back out next weekend.

I like the heck out of my paxton which has been on the ride for 3 weeks or so and it makes plenty of power lol
