Helps to stabilize the slab also. Some of the better builders around the Houston area have started doing that as well. Our soil is so moist that there were several areas that had slab problems. The deep trenches helped stabilize the structure to the point that foundation companies around here are saying......
Would probably work well in Lousyana as well. Even down in that damn swamp you live in, Freak.
