If aluminum melts at 1200+ degrees, then this stuff would melt at about 700 degrees. I can't see an intake getting that hot unless the vehicle was on fire.

That is what they said in the video, it takes 700 deg to melt the rods. If my head is ever that hot I have bigger problems then this product melting.

Yeah I agree for the intake port--but I wasn't talking about that, I was saying the combustion chamber- which will EASILY get that hot--and a clip in the video showed them repairing a combustion chamber.

I would assume there is a chemical in the rod that makes it melt then once it is cooled it is harder to melt again. That is one of the things I want to test on it before I use it.

I don't know if I would use it in the combustion chamber or exhaust port but for the intake side it looks like it will serve my purpose.

Had a lot on my plate today but, I did get the combustion chambers done on head 2. Since the bowls are already done, I just need to do the upper intake and exhaust ports now and then once over everything again with the sanding cones for a final finish. Then off to get the seats ground and decked. I need to figure out how to figure the amount taken off the head to lower the CC a certain amount. That may be a little at a time kind of thing though. These things should move some air now!

This is the head with the "bolt" damage. Most of it will clean up when they are decked.

About another two hrs tomorrow and they will be ready for the machine shop. I CCed the chambers today and it looks like I am at 52cc and they will need .020 taken off them to get to 50ccs where I want to be. I was very surprise that they didn't measure more. I removed a lot of material there. I am going to get a syringe tomorrow and check it closer. I used a container with the min. being 50cc so I don't know how accurate it was.

1000+ rwhp in the spring with a single power adder car... :thumb2:

I don't think you will have a problem doing it. Not with your skills, talent and dedication. All you have to do is find a dyno where you won't smoke the tires off! Or put 50 clowns in the trunk.:roflmao:

I can appreciate all the work and effort it takes/has taken you. I'm looking for 1000hp this summer too and I know what it takes to make that happen and what I still need to get done. People throw 1000hp around on the net/in magazines like it's the new 500. Um, no. It's a big deal, especially with a 3v that can be driven on the street. And even when/if I do it my car will never be as pretty as yours.

I bought a syringe from the Walmart cooking section and it was on the money compared to all the info online.. Plus it was like 4 bucks!

I cant wait to flow these things! And even more put the boost to them, car should sound totally different. I have a Dyno Jet I can use about 45 min. from be with a brake on it so I will get a good pull. I also have a Dyno Jet with no brake about 5 miles from me now.

I know what you mean about how people throw that number around, I hear it sometimes and think to myself, "If they only knew"!

Oh yea, 3V FTW! :chainsaw:

I think I lied.. It might have been 7 or 8 dollars.. It's just a flavor injector, nothing fancy. It measures from 0-30ml in 1ml increments, so if your eyeballs aren't too bad .25ml is a repeatable figure.

1ml=1cc. Isn't the metric system such a beautiful thing. Haha

Billy, is the additional .020 being taken off the heads going to effect the mating surface of the intake to head ?

It shouldn't. I am going to set it all up before porting the delete plates though that way if there is any alignment issues it can be taken care of in the plates. I will be making my own gaskets also so there is room for error there as well.

I spent about 4 hrs finishing the heads today which is about 20 hrs total in these heads. I am very happy with them and cannot wait to flow them! I polished the exhaust ports some and found some more material to remove at the intake openings in the corners. Here are some pics of my final work. They will be off to the machine shop on Mon. to get the valve seats grinded and the heads decked. I made a plexiglass cover to cc the heads today as well. Just need the 60cc syringe now.
