This looks pretty close to what I've heard about those springs, I did call them last week and asked a few questions about fitment and machining so this looks right. They also told me that max lift for the record was about .566 to cover themselves but 5.88 would be max.

Thanks for everyone for the spring input, I'm sending back these Manley springs, Comp titanium retainers and going with the PAC 1533 using my stock retainers.

That's the specs for the trick flow springs. Not the livernois, unless they are identical.

That was my point earlier. When I was researching I found the same exact specs. Prior to using this spring I believe that Livernois was using the Manley NexTec so when you read about springs breaking make sure the reference is correct for the date.

Sorry Bruce I must have overlooked it. So are they exactly the same or do they just have the same specs?

I can't answer that. I know people who have used the tfs springs and they worked fine. They did end up locking out the phasers because the springs didn't play well with them.

That is my plan. To lock the phasers and run the trick flow crank setup to try and dial in a mix between power and street-ability.

+1 for PAC springs. I run them in both my Corvette and Mustang that see a lot of road course time.

I bought PAC springs for my build but bought the nitrite springs. They have a higher seat pressure for higher RPM and boost.

Our springs are made for us by PAC

We can offer our spring at a better price than you can purchase competing products from other suppliers.

I did end up sending back the Manley Springs and the larger retainers that are needed them. Finishing up putting in the new PAC 1533 springs, sooooo much easier to install than the over size Manley ones when your doing a swap with motor installed.

With all the cam followers out now I'll proceed to swap in the new cam and lockout the phasers. Some pics below of the swap...

My Setup, a home made air cylinder supply tool and the Freedom Racing Valve Spring Compression Tool, Very good tool when springs are of the same Diameter.

Compressing the Spring to remove retainers..

Using a flat screw driver with a little red tacky no#3 grease on the inside of the retainer and a drop on the screw driver to hold it while applying.

Spinning the one half of the retainer around to apply the final one.

Driver side closest to the firewall will be your heart ach.. the exhaust spring is the most difficult. I took the motor mount bolt out on this side and loosened the passenger side mount to tip the motor enough to remove that spring, tool just fits. You might want to find a friend with hands like a Gerbil for this one if you have meat hooks.

Top and Side comparison of the stock and the PAC 1533 springs, PAC on right.
