Broke dafuk down
I know the id1000 injectors will not run with a tune for any other injector. Sounded kinda like yours. Lol, I was told it would not run but like a kid at Christmas I had to try. They were right..

That and I had a few customers install the jlt 110 maf housing backwards

Crown...I admire everything you do with Jason and the DOB kits....even as much as he HATES KB LOL! But no..the ID1000s and Mr. Jon Lunds tuning had zero to do with the start and flooded stall. Damn....still trying to calm my country ass down lol.

Tim, I am so happy for you that you are now up and running!

Thanks! Im relieved.

Awaiting the answer as well, glad it's taken care of

Me too!

The whole problem was of course the throttle body. I knew something wasn't right from the very beginning but I was told all my concerns were unfounded. Long story short, the brass adjustment screw that KB absolutely prohibits you from touching was not adjusted correctly to begin with. It wasn't allowing enough air to the engine hence the stalling after 3 seconds and soaked spark plugs. I finally decided to say the heck with voiding the TB warranty so I cracked the brass screw loose and starting doing some voltage output testing between the stock TB and the Kenne Bell. The KB TB wasn't out by a mile, but the voltage outputs to the PCM were off from stock about .225 volts which had the PCM dumping too much fuel and not opening the throttle body for enough air. So basically the whole headache was a misadjusted TB that KB demands come perfectly set from the factory. Well....not in my case. KB used to have several versions of the 75mm TB. But now they are down to one size fits all which was actually engineered for the later model GT500s and insist it works fine on previous model years.

What a damn nightmare it was trying to figure out the problem. Jon Lund did everything he could but knew in the end it wasn't the tuning and so did I so I just brainstormed all night eliminating things as well as listening to the little voice that kept saying it was the TB. So here we are and I'm proud of myself that I was able to solve the problem when nobody, not even KB could give me and answer.

That's also adjustable in the tune. ISC idle air iirc. I wonder if the KB reference voltage is lower because the tb is larger which would mean less opening required for the same airflow as a stock tb? There is a whole lot involved in tuning for a tb. That's why the value file tuners won't tune for a custom one. It's difficult. Have you made a wot pull yet?

No WOT pull yet. I need to do a cruise datalog first sometime this week. For the WOT pull it is going to DBR Performance on the dyno. It is one of Jons authorized remote Lund tuning centers. That is something that has to be scheduled between the local shop at Jon. I'm not going for jaw dropping power this go around. I'm keeping the boost down to around 15 psi until I can upgrade the trans and rear axle this fall.

Very wise imo. Once you are over 550 or so it doesn't matter much on the street anyway. At least that's been my experience. In fact I'd rather have a 500-550rwhp car than a 600-650 on the street.

You're not the first person I've heard say this.

My car is still a lot of fun at 4xx. Once I got over 550 it just took too much attention to drive. The carefree cruising aspect that I enjoy just goes out the window when the power level goes up. Not everyone agrees with that so it's just a personal opinion.

I want 1000HP on the street!!! :naughty1:

You are special Gerald. Lol.

Having a car sitting at 640-700hp I fully agree with this. In fact I pulled my 63mm pulley off and went back to the 11 lb pulley (which puts me about 570). It's still sketchy as hell driving around on cooler days because I just blow the tires up so easily. These tires are great in the summer but suck below 70 degrees. Thankfully I can change my power output with a simple pulley swap so I can enjoy my car around town and still have a 650-700hp monster at the track.

I agree with the street HP. I have mine tuned for 15lbs and 600 rwhp but I run about 12lbs for normal DD. I can still blow the tires off at that level and I run M/T DR's for my DD rear tires.

Today is the day for getting out and doing my cruise log for Lund. It's going to be sunny and mid 60's today. I hope everything ends up as nice as the weather for me! This weather and having the car back down and on the streets has been a long time coming! Haven't driven it since November. Definitely going to cure some severe withdrawals today.
