Figured the new accomplishment deserved a new thread:

Well, Bradenton was a very successful trip. We ran 21psi through the car, the stock block held, and we were rewarded with an 8.31 @ 165.59mph. That was the all in glory run considering I'm not running any aftermarket sleeves or block supports, I'm very happy it took the abuse. I'm now a firm believer that a good turbo system and a good tune is key to making parts live. We were around 1100hp to the rear tires on the stock block, and it lived!

Big thanks to Ken and Lund Racing for a tune that made big power and kept the motor alive. Huge thanks to Fluid Turbo Concepts for making a kit that runs the number with their off the shelf parts. Thanks to Power By The Hour for all the help with the car. Thanks to L&M Motors for putting together a badass motor that held up to this abuse. Last but not least thanks to Jon and Clinton for their help on the car, the trip, and for hanging out for the fun times in Flordia!

Thanks also to those that took the time to hang out and chat with us. Living way out west we don't get that opportunity very often. Was cool hanging out with Fred, Terry, Kelly, Sharad, and others. Hope to meet up with everybody again in Bowling Green! Dustin, you suck, call a mf'r next time you are near by so we can grab some beers.

Your car is setup so perfect that the video it looks like a 12 second pass. Incredible. Nice job!

I'd be a liar if I didn't say we've been lucky in that department. We are still on the initial guesses at control arm locations and still on single adjustables front and rear. That shows in our 60' though, we lowered the 2step a bit to make sure it hooked. The car has been 1.2x 60's before, which means an 8.2x was possible if the suspension was tuned in and we gave it more on the launch. Not gonna complain at all though, very happy with the results.

I agree that the launch looks a little soft, but it's a low 8 second pass and the car just went. No drama, no tire spin, no huge wheelies, just straight as could be. That's incredibly impressive to me.

I'm planning to be over a second slower than that this year, and I expect chaos on the launch with my car. And it will still be a slower 60' than yours.

Agreed, it is pretty mellow looking out of the hole. When the two step was up a touch higher it was carrying the front out a ways, or just going up in smoke. I don't think we're done with the suspension yet, it can use a little more hit to the tire. Not too much though. Don't need any of those Cobra Jet style huge wheelies :argh:

Awesome! Can't complain about that at all! That is truly a major accomplishment, congrats. I was at Bradenton last weekend too, did you run the car on Sunday?

We ran the car once Sunday morning, and that was the 8.31 run. We got DQ'd from modular muscle for running too quick, but they were nice enough to let us make a pass after MM ran. That one was all we needed, we called it a day after that. No need to push our luck any further. Appreciate NMRA letting us have that pass Sunday.

Great videos that are more from the side. It looks like the car has a pretty strong 330 time.

These videos show kind of a bobble in the front. It pulls the tires a hair, then back down, then repeats 2 or 3 times. I've been asking around for people's thoughts on that and so far people are saying it isn't an issue if it isn't unloading the rear, which it isn't. Curious your thoughts on that front end being a little funky like that, maybe it is power delivery too?

Mine did the same thing (I have it on 240fps go pro footage and camcorder from the 60' mark). Power delivery. Mine would only do it on the bottle, however. It would pull the tires, come back down, then the driver front would lift again about 50 feet out.

I say if your 60' times are where you want them, then you are good.

What are your shock settings (front, rear). I am using strange shocks and struts, double adjustable rear and single adjustable struts up front.
