Just placed an order.

Manley Rods w/ ARP2000
Wiseco pistons w/ rings -6cc dish
ARP head studs
Motocraft head gaskets

- $1870 shipped.

It will be here wednesday so ill take some pics of the pistons. I dont know of anyone here running them, but according to the dealer I got them from they seem to be better than any other shelf piston he carries (manley/mahle/diamond/CP) thicker side skirts and what not.

Features:
*2V PI, 2V TFS, 3V and 4V Specific Pistons - Valve Reliefs come standard with all sets.
*Forged from 2618 Alloy Aluminum
*Wiseco Armour Glide Skirt Coating
*In-Board Forging with a Strutted Skirt Design keeps them light weight and keeps the material where its needed.
*.300" Down Top Ring for Nitrous and Boosted Applications
*.155" Skirt and Strut Thickness
*Pressure Balance Groove between Top and Second Ring
*Supplied with Total Seal Gas Nitrided Steel Top Rings, Napier 2nd Rings and 3 Piece Oil Ring. Just like the Total Seal AP Steel Ring Sets, but with the Napier 2nd Option being standard.
Supplied with 2.250" .173" Wall 4130 Chrome Moly Pins with .150" Wall 9310 Pins being offered as an upgrade

I didn't see those pistons on Excessive Motorsports website. Are these the same http://www.modmaxracing.com/product_p/wisk484m905.htm ? If so, they list compression at 10.3 with stock heads.

Jordan at excessive says he hasn't been able to maintain his website.

But they do look like the same pistons... I was assured by excessive the ratio. They will arrive today, I'll see if they have any compression ratio listed.

FYI:

http://www.wiseco.com/Catalogs/Automotive/Ford.pdf

wiseco site lists -6cc piston on 3v at 9.7:1

Nice. Those are the new style of pistons for a 3v only. Good to see they are making them.

Edit: Here's a pic of the old style -6cc pistons FYI.

Currently researching valve springs - id like to use stock retainers. but something that will work with my VCT being limited. Seems from my research most valve springs dont work well with VCT unless its locked out.

After plenty of research and cross referencing part numbers I am going with the Trick Flow #16213-24 (uses factory retainers and factory locks), 80lbs on the seat and 185lbs at the nose. Plenty enough spring for boost and still get VCT to function properly without having to lock it out. I went through all that because I don't want to lock mine out, but plan on going turbo so I needed something more than just the stock spring. Hope this helps..

Glad so! Because I was on the same issue as you, couldn't figure out what spring to order and I knew there had to be more than something out there than Comps, not knocking the name or anything, but come one one spring can't rule the market. But you should be able to take that number and get them from jegs or summit, etc.

Probably going to be adding a tr6060 to the list. So much for my budget build. I'm expecting to be around 5600$ total tho.

Lol crown I was going to! But opted for the tr6060.
One day I will get it!

Just bought a TR6060 and gt500 driveshaft for 1575 shipped! So I guess I just need shifter clutch and crossmember to get it all bolted up?

Where in the world did you get it for that deal?!

SVTforums.

2010 transmission also so the longer gearing which will work great with my 4.10s and get this - it only has 9k miles on it. His gt500 is a damn race car - he holds the record for fastest 6speed gt500 with a tvs. 9.48 - he offered me a mcleod rxt for 500$ but I passed. I feel im going to regret that.

well look at that, that's a steal! and most likely you will regret that, that's almost half the price of it. I picked up a 2012 gt500 clutch/flywheel for my build. But then again I am beefing up the 3650 instead of doing the 6060 swap... For now

Polishing a turd eh? No matter what you do it will still have 5 small gears and inferior syncros when compared to a 6060. I'd guess that you will be into the 3650 for as much or more than a used 6060 will cost.

It's your money and your choice. I like people to know when they have better options.

lol pretty much you're correct, just polishing a turd, and I understand that I could and might have gotten a 6060 for a decent price, but so far I have just under 500 in parts for the 3650 then my time and labor into it. So for now that makes me happy.

Understood, and I'm glad people like you let me know my options! At the time I couldn't find any 6060's around for a decent price so I opted to get parts for mine. I guess we will see in the end!

That's not too bad. Some folks put more into a 3650 than a 6060 would cost and don't realize it until later.

You will also have your 26 spline clutch setup in place for later.
