Top of fourth on a long pull, wasn't lean,no detonation....just a lot of heat....pop....enough smoke to let me know it was fucked.

Mahle, livernois 4032 Pistons.

FWIW Livernois changed the standard Mahle ring grooves to their specs. IIRC it was for more piston top before the first ring.

I think I know the issue, you all use the same tuner, lol.

Haha, I wish. Its not that easy.

Maybe turn the power down to 700 or so? Never happen, lol.

What? That was two years ago!

Didn't you get the memo for 2014, 1000rwhp is the min. :thumb2:

So is it a consensus that I should tear it all the way down to inspect and at least re-ring?

Not sure I feel comfortable just throwing some new followers in there and trying it again. I have at least 4 months of snow coming so I have time

His name is Eduardo Melgar and owns Eds Speed Shop... heads and cams supported almost 1300whp and 980ftlbs of tq on his 298ci motor I believe... they do extensive chamber work, cnc ported, unshroud the valves, +1 bigger stainless intake valves, stock exhaust valves, manyley springs and retainers.... I have pictures in build thread... they flowed 280/210 if I remember correctly...

Stock head flow:
Intake
Lift---- CFM
.100-----77.1
.200----147.0
.300----199.6
.400----216.0
.500----223.2
.600----224.8

Exhaust
Lift------CFM
.100-----52.7
.200-----97.8
.300----120.2
.400----138.1
.500----148.2
.600----153.7

My thinking right now is if the block is okay maybe get a different set of .030 pistons, but in a 2618 alloy this time that require a little more ptb clearance. Rehone and go back together with upgraded wrist pins, stronger pistons and a forged crank. Think that is doable?
