no sealant required nor should it be used on the 3v. Use arp lube for the nuts and washers. Torque in correct sequence in the equal (well close) increments. Loosen per the reverse torque sequence and repeat for a total of three times. That will ensure your final torque is accurate.

No gasket rtv either. Stock oem mls gaskets. I have used them over 23 psi and using my new build up to 30 with 10.5:1 cr. You will be fine

Also, did you swap the spring from your old pump to the new pump?

Yeah Scott! Is a good feeling! The shop was swamped! But they are a good shop, it's the shop that JMS (Chris Johnson and Monty) use to build short blocks. And pretty much every performance shop in this area uses.

While I went with a FRPP Aluminator short block it was the first 3V I assembled, last Ford I built was a Boss 302 so the 3V was a real learning experience for me. Good luck with the rest of the assembly! Bryan if you have not yet, take a peak at my build thread, who knows you may find something useful.

I think I need a thread chaser - I was twisting these by hand and some felt like they were catching others twisted smoothly.

calling it a day - I slapped the heads on just so it keeps the pistons from getting dusty.

Nice, I'm just curious. What did the machine shop charge you for the short block build?

Well I moved a few hours away and that set me back on finishing. Got my house up for sale and the mustang is the only thing left there lol. But got the motor in/ driveshaft back on and exhaust on. Just got to prime the motor and install radiator and it's good to go.
